    We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to serve within the Portsmouth, RI Manufacturing Operations site. The Senior QE will support Engineering and Manufacturing contracts ensuring that Operations objectives are accomplished while staying compliant to AS9100 requirements.  The new team member of Operations Quality professionals will help safeguard the successful integration and execution of RMD processes and procedures within the constraints of Raytheon Command Media.

    The ideal candidate will have a dynamic mindset and the ability to influence peers and offer innovative solutions to complex challenges that arise during the planning and manufacturing execution phases.  The candidate will be collaborating closely with all cross-functional teams including Operations, Supply Chain, Operations Engineering and Quality to support that Mission Objectives and Contractual Requirements have been met.   

    Primary Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

    • Serve as a member of the Operations Quality team, ensuring successful Manufacturing Operations performance, deliver conforming products/services through effective collaboration and compliance to processes and procedures 
    • Lead Sales Readiness Reviews and presentation of products to our Defense Contract Manufacturing Agency (DCMA)
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partner with Program Leadership Team to define and implement quality improvement projects
    • Support supplier quality and factory issues and resolve in a timely manner
    • Drive Root Cause and Correction Actions on any Manufacturing Operations issues
    • Lead CORE initiatives across the Value Streams to drive continuous improvements
    • Analyze nonconformance data and lead initiatives to improve performance
    • Support daily factory production meetings and provide Operations Quality Leadership
    • Conduct 6s Assessments and Compliance Audit in manufacturing

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of experience quality/manufacturing/test/systems/process engineering OR Advanced degree in Science, Engineering, Math or other related STEM degree and 3 years of experience quality/manufacturing/test/systems/process engineering
    • Prior experience with Quality systems, to include ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 
    • Experience with Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) or another continuous improvement program; Utilizing tools such as 5S, Root Cause
    • Ability to obtain US DoD Secret (or higher) clearance

    • Experience in leading by influence, with discovery and resolution of issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs and factories
    • Analysis, Process Mapping/Analysis, Lean Six Sigma (6Sigma)
    • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/AS9145; Utilizing tools such as PPAP, Key Characteristics, DFMEA, PFMEA and/or Control Plans
    • Experience with SAP/PRISM or other Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) Tool
    • Experience with Drawing and Document Repository and/or Configuration Control System such as Common Product Data Management cPDM and/or Common As-Built System CABS
    • Experience leading teams in failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions
    • Ability to comprehend and translate system requirements to ensure full compliance is flowed down through product, assembly and test documentation as well meeting contractual requirements
    • Supplier Engagement-Experience through Raytheon Enterprise Supplier Assessment (RESA); Experience Reviewing Statement of Work (SOW), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), Knowledge of Purchase Order Quality Requirements (Q-Notes, STAMP)
    • Certification or pursuing ASQ and/or program management certification
