Sr. Software Engineer, DevSecOps (Cleared)

Located in Arlington, VA, our Information Exploitation (IX) group is seeking a Engineer with software research interests. Our world-class team works with a broad range of Government agencies to resolve problems that are both technically challenging and have a real operational impact.

What you will do

The IX group is seeking an experienced software developer with a strong interest in DevSecOps to lead our automation and delivery efforts on a recent program win in military intelligence. You’ll spend your time in a small team using industry-standard tools to improve our development, build, testing, and deployment activities across unclassified/classified networks. In 6-12 months, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your experience with other project teams and perform core software development of Java and Python web applications for intelligence and autonomy problems.

As a Senior Engineer in the IX group, you will lead portions of project work, present key results to our customers, and champion your technical area to other teams. In our fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, you’ll often be presented with open-ended problems without an established solution, so you should be energized by the opportunity to push the envelope at the intersection of advanced technology and mission-critical applications. A curious mind, creative problem solving, and exceptional technical skills are key.

You will work in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment with engineers with a variety of other backgrounds and professional experience to solve challenging problems including:

• Tailoring continuous build and integration processes for prototype software based on project goals and technical maturity
• Seamlessly bridging the gap between unclassified development and classified configuration, deployment, and demos
• Building novel and practical solutions to complex, open-ended military and intelligence problems.
• Developing mission-critical applications for deployment into global enterprise operations;
• Working with senior technical staff to grow our business with both current and new customers

What you will need

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent discipline plus 5 years of experience, or MS in Computer Science (or equivalent) plus 3 years of experience
• Current DoD or IC Top Secret security clearance with SSBI
• Strong software development skills, particularly in the area of modern Java (11+), cloud-based software, and web applications
• Prior experience with most key technologies in our software stack for development (Java, Gradle, Spring, Python), admin (Jira, Bitbucket/GitLab), build (Nexus/Artifactory, Jenkins), and cloud deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS)
• Excellent communications skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team ecosystem

Desired Skills

• Experience with legacy software build tools (Ant, Ivy, Maven) to support our migration away from them
• Experience with data science, machine reasoning, semantic graph data
• Any additional domain experience or interest in military planning, space systems, or logistics
• Desire to grow into a leadership/mentorship role
• Active TS/SCI highly desired
