The Senior Systems Test Engineer will develop, build and maintain test systems and support equipment for new and existing Fly-By-Wire programs within the Flight Control COE.  Position encompasses system, hardware and software disciplines.  Although rig usage is primarily ONSITE in Cedar Rapids, IA, the candidate may go HYBRID later on. Relocation is available.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. 

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Cross discipline responsibilities - systems, hardware & software 

• Several test systems are located at customer/partner locations 

• Support prime product equipment including configuration management of lab equipment 

• Work effectively with the Digital Technology (DT) teams 

• Documentation development and release 

• Support next generation development and pursuit activities 

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR   

• Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR  

• In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required   

• Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder

• Working knowledge of configuring and maintaining Windows based PCs 

• PC based user interface with varying IO implementations 

• VME, PXI, PCI, PCIe, etc. 

• Equipment utilizes multiple OS 

• Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows XP 

• Linux 

• RTX (Real-Time Extension to Windows) 

• Airplane interfaces 

• CDN/Ethernet 

• TTP 

• A429 

• Discrete IO 

• Power Control and Management 

• Working knowledge of Python 

• CCANET, LABNET and Alliance campus networks 

• JIRA, ALM 

Preferred: 

• Lab experience

• Flight Controls/Fly-By-Wire experience desired

• Self-Motived and Self-Driven 

• Able to manage priority within the context of multiple, on-going and independent projects 

• Able to work with and lead technician support 

• Able to oversee work, work well with others and delegate 

• Able to manage and coordinate work that is outsourced
