The Collins Aerospace Propulsion Systems business located in Fairfield, CA designs, manufactures, and test various energetic devices. Many of our devices are system components which provide a safe means for a pilot’s ejection from fighter jets and helicopters. The team here manufactures a wide range of cartridge actuated devices, propellant actuated devices, and linear devices. These products proudly support various military and commercial applications.
This Industrial Engineering Technician (IE Tech) opportunity comes from a need to support the transition in business tools and work instruction documentation. The IE Tech Team has a Lead IE Tech who will mentor, onboard, and provide day-to-day direction to the team.
The IE Tech will bring hands on build and/or test experience into the team to champion the presentation of processes, work instructions, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to ensure producible and repeatable products are transitioned into standard production.
The IE Tech career path contains the option to become a Lead or Master IE Tech or to grow into a Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer, based on performance and obtaining a formal Engineering degree or other relevant training/experience or degree.
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite in Fairfield, CA.
Primary Responsibilities:
Interacts with and builds relationships with assemblers and technicians to capture hands-on feedback and translate feedback into actions/issues.
Liaison and Assignee for Router/BOM/Work Instructions Issues to be entered in JIRA and presented in Operations Change Control Meeting.
Creates and maintains detailed assembly line work instructions to ensure compliance to drawings, specifications, industry standards, and customer contractual requirements.
Creates and maintains the master router sequences and BOM data in CSI(SAP tool).
Works closely with manufacturing engineering and other cross functional teams to evaluate drawing changes affecting assembly process and instructions.
Identifies and proactively addresses risks and opportunities to achieve the business plan’s quality, cost, and schedule goals.
Performs Time Studies and Establish Takt time for router steps.
Technical Writing of Assembly, Test, and other Manufacturing Work instruction documentation.
Utilize Product Data Management system for administration and release activities of non-deliverable Tooling, Fixtures, and Equipment drawings and diagrams.
Recommends improvements in established policies and procedures in analyzing situations and/or systemic manufacturing tools and practices.
Assist Manufacturing team with varying requests as business need arises ranging from administrative tasks to Continuing Improvement project support.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Teams.
Adobe PDF editing Software.
Project tracking applications.
Familiar with aerospace industry, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Experienced with engineering drawings, technical specifications, SAP, and configuration management applications.
Hands on continuous improvement experience.
Basic Qualifications
Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) access.

The salary range for this role is 41,000 USD - 95,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
