    Here at Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RI&S) we create solutions that make the world a safer place. We are looking for rising college juniors to help propel Raytheon Technologies Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) into the next era of innovation.

    This 10-12 week internship is designed to empower growth by exploring the dynamic nature of the defense industry through the North Texas EH&S team. This team provides services & solutions to safeguard people, protect the environment, provide framework for a resilient business and enhance operational excellence for North Texas sites.

    Your summer will include a capstone project which will be presented to leadership. Expand your knowledge of EH&S while gaining exposure to leadership. Meet other interns, connect through an individual mentorship program & engage with senior leaders on topics of innovation, leadership, & technology.

    Key projects

    • Develop a Decommissioning Plan aligned with RI&S policies. Detail complex process to make a site/area safe for unprotected personnel by removing, neutralizing, or destroying harmful substances. Process includes planning, equipment & facility decontamination, cleaning standards, clearance sampling, waste management, training & documentation. Process will be used immediately as key operations in Texas are scheduled to move to another local site
    • Mature RI&S EH&S Risk Heat Map program. Process involves developing inventory of EH&S site risks & evaluating both risk to environment and employee safety. Special focus on risks that could lead to Serious Injuries or Fatalities. Once evaluated, risks are depicted on heat map to show top hazards due to frequency & potential consequences. Map will explain site risks & make a case to leaders for funding mitigation efforts

    Security Clearance & Other Requirements

    • US Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems

    Requirements

    • Strong written & verbal communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills–comfortable working with quantitative & qualitative data
    • Strong ability to work in teams, collaborate with peers & internal customers
    • Strong experience in Microsoft Office tools
    • Ability to learn new processes quickly & effectively multi-task
    • Undergraduate candidates must have 60-90 credits completed by Summer 2023 & expected graduation date December 2024-August 2025

    Required Education

    • Candidate must be enrolled & pursuing a BA/BS, in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical), Science (Environmental, Health, Safety – Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene), Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics or other related environmental/sustainability discipline
