Collins Aerospace Air Combat Test & Training (ACTT) Engineering is responsible for all product line and design engineering tasks related to the design, analysis, test and certification of Air Combat Training systems and their integration into the Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) Training Environment. The position is to work in the Mission Systems business unit solving the challenges of developing:

• Products needed for next generation, secure aircraft instrumentation

• LVC for test and training

• Product roadmaps and architectures

Our Systems Engineering Teams are looking for a Systems Engineer II to join our team onsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as we provide technical excellence in a rapidly growing Air Combat Training market for system of system requirements, design, verification, accreditation, and sustainment efforts.  Our systems engineering team touches all aspects and products within the department with opportunities to influence and own forward looking strategic planning, designing roadmaps and architectures. As platform level systems team, this team has opportunities for direct customer and end user interaction as well as coordination across subsystem teams and stakeholders. The team culture is highly collaborative and uses a tailored version of the Scaled Agile Framework to meet our program goals. This position is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support testing activities and requirements capture during product development

• Own verification procedure development

• Conduct peer reviews on system documents and test procedures

• Collaboration on agile team sprint and increment goals

• Communication and status to relevant stakeholders

• Own design approach development through collaboration with subject matter experts

• Follow through on resolution with points of contact or subject matter experts for technical issues

Basic Qualifications:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.

• Must be a US Citizen.

• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
