Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer II. We’re looking for a passionate professional to accept a high level of responsibility within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. We are looking for a Systems Engineer II to support the Electric Power Systems Power Conversion and Distribution product group. We are seeking an individual that has the capability to work collaboratively with a team, some local and some remote, to synthesize optimal architectures for technical performance & life cycle cost value. The candidate will define, maintain, document, and test system requirements for the secondary power distribution products.
Must be a commutable distance from Rockford, IL to work a hybrid schedule reporting on-site as needed
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field OR in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
Candidate must be able to work on a cross-functional support team and be able to communicate clearly in various review boards both internally & externally.
Respect for, and compatibility with, a structured development process where well-documented requirements, designs, and test procedures
Ability to work well both independently and within an integrated product development team environment.
Broad life-cycle experience: requirements analysis through system integration including integration lab verification.
Familiarity with aircraft certification requirements related to system safety and reliability (ARP4754, ARP4761, FAR / JAR), and aircraft electrical system architecture.
Familiarity with DOORs software
Electrical sub-systems development (e.g. Chapter 24, aircraft utilities, power distribution units, actuation systems)
