    Collins Aerospace is standing up a Digital Product Life Cycle (DPLC) Program Management Office (PMO) to lead the DPLC initiative at Collins. This is a critical initiative to the future of our business that will catalyze a business transformation. To build out and scale capabilities across Collins, the team is currently composed of a:

    • Digital Engineering

    • Product Lifecycle Management

    • Connected Operations

    • Manufacturing Execution Systems

    • Life Cycle Data Applications

    This position is Life Cycle Data Applications Technical Lead role. Data applications (e.g., Digital Thread, Digital Twin) will give Collins Aerospace the framework to make decisions early as they relate to product enhancements, quality, reliability, and serviceability. Data applications will provide fleet-wide control and visibility over the full lifespan of any product under observation, allowing for a proactive approach to product management. Design change effectivity, system-level interactions, airline maintenance deviations, enhanced PHM, rapid fault isolation, and precise factory demand loading for replacement parts are only a fraction of the use cases that will be enabled by life cycle data applications. All of this will provide cost savings, enable revenue generation, or both as we use this capability to provide differentiated product designs, operational efficiencies, and best-in-class customer experiences.

    As the Technical Lead, you will be technical authority responsible for defining and supporting the building of desirable, feasible, viable, and sustainable lifecycle data applications that meet stakeholder needs across engineering, manufacturing, service, and aftermarket organizations demonstrating how as-designed, as-built, and as-fielded models and data can be used across our enterprise to support the development of a new breed of product life cycle analytical capabilities and digital twins. This will require you to influence the application of new technology (e.g., Knowledge Graph, Machine Learning & AI) to support this initiative. You will enable the business to build their product digital thread that will enable future digital twins to drive new / optimized product design and development capabilities, enhancement and/or creation of new services for better in-field support, maintenance, and aftermarket processes.

    You will engage, collaborate, and build relationships with leaders across COLLINS AEROSPACE and RTX to align teams to a common technical direction to meet the vision, mission and roadmap.

    You will be a thought leader to define and develop clear product life cycle data applications strategy / road map for Collins. This will require you to recommend, identify and work closely with the team to develop use cases, manage key requirements with the product teams and dependent product teams to shape the product roadmap.

    The role will be regularly challenged with problems that will require a forward-looking and future-reaching mind set to build / evolve Life Cycle data applications that will scale across Collins Aerospace.

    This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Provide Technical Leadership to drive toward the product lifecycle data applications (e.g., Digital Thread & Digital Twin) vision / mission and continuously develop associated strategy.

    • Provide thought leadership to define subsystems and their interfaces associated to the targeted outcome / value

    • Work with program leadership to establish a DPLC Data Application roadmap

    • Assist the SBU and customers with the development of Digital Thread Applications for their business / programs, the development / integration of Ontologies and the Digital Twins

    • Develop efficient technical approaches to model and analyze various aerospace systems within Collins.

    • Explore, define, and support the implementation enablers. Ensure an understanding and associated documentation around why enablers are needed to achieve outcome.

    • Plan and develop the Architectural Runway (existing applications, enabling components / data and technical infrastructure) needed to implement near-term features

    • Technical understanding of both aerospace systems / products and the allocation of Digital Technology in the Data space.

    • Shape how AI & Machine Learning can be effectively leveraged by lifecycle data applications and digital twins

    • Work with Product Manager, Release Train Engineer, and Product owners to align on capacity, budgets, needed investments, etc. to deliver features / applications.

    • Where required, coordinate technical alignment and influence priority associated to data initiatives outside of product Lifecycle data applications release train.

    • Drive from key business requirements to key technical requirements to delivery of capabilities and ultimately to achieving outcomes / value.

    • Participate to PI planning events, support development of program backlog and influence the priority of applications / associated features.  

    • Ensure roadmap and key dependency alignment with other technical leaders in the SBUs, the DPLC Program Office, Digital Technology and Enterprise stakeholders

    • Support the teams in program execution, inspect and adapt.

    • Be an advocate for data - Communicate & educate be able to articulate the vision, strategy, and progress to all levels of the organization (Executives to individual contributors).

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience OR

    • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience OR

    • In absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required

    • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

    • Operated as a Technical Lead (e.g., Engineer, Architect, etc.) within a Program accountable for delivering solutions that meet requirements

    • Extensive experience in a Technical Aerospace business role (e.g. Engineering, etc.) – demonstrates extensive industry knowledge

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of data acquisition and data transmission techniques, airline operations (including maintenance, repair and overhaul)

    • Technology visionary and advocate.

    • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to influence business partners / leaders, peer technical leaders and create alignment

    • Experience developing highly successful technology products

    • Leading and developing a team owning initiatives

    • Experience with product / feature ownership and driving / aligning a product strategy / roadmap

    • Experience in developing predictive analytics, data science, or systems integration products.

    • Familiar with digital twin methodologies and technologies

    • Budgeting and procurement experience

    The salary range for this role is 139,000 USD - 277,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
