    Job Summary:

    The Undersea and Ship Integration (USI) Department in Portsmouth, RI is seeking a production test engineer to support the manufacturing test process through one or more phases of the product life cycle, including product development, transition to production, sustained production and depot activities.  The test engineer validates and ensures compliance of hardware to technical data package requirements and supporting test equipment.  Performs troubleshooting and problem solving of test failures. Identifies opportunities in test processes to improve efficiency, yields, and capacity.  We value diverse skills and experience, so don’t hold back.     Responsibilities to Anticipate:

    • Develop, maintain, and review Manufacturing Test Procedures and work instructions.
    • Validate new or modified test equipment for production use. 
    • Monitor and improve the test process through analysis of predictive metrics of trends, failure modes, and test yields. 
    • Perform preliminary investigation of problem resolution. 
    • Develop test flows and contribute to test capacity analysis. 
    • Develop and maintain changes to the test equipment and the associated technical data package which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals, and system software. 
    • Assist in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of the product or test equipment. 
    • Lead root cause and corrective action investigations and present findings. 
    • Provide technical training in both product and test equipment to production test specialists and metrology personnel.
    • Perform troubleshooting and debugging, both independently and in collaboration with design engineering teams.
    • Work with Hardware Design and Operations teams to ensure the test equipment required for production meets standards for manufacturing.
    • Candidate will be a team player and interact with all levels of the organization.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Bachelor’s of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of prior relevant experience.
    • Experience interpreting technical documentation.
    • Experience with hands-on hardware integration and troubleshooting.
    • Experience with test equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, noise figure analyzers, and/or power meters/sensors.
    • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
