    Job Summary:

    The Test Systems Products Team (TSPT) is an engineering center within Raytheon’s Missiles & Defense (RMD) directorate which develops advanced integrated test solutions that span all mission areas and product development levels.  TSPT works to advance the application and transition of transformational technology in measurement science, mechatronics, autonomy, and data analytics.

    TSPT is looking for a Test Systems Design Fellow to develop and lead a systems approach to the design and development of advanced, next generation test solutions that will support production, depot and engineering test environments used to manufacture and field Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) products. The Test Systems Design Fellow is a member of senior Technical Staff within the TSPT organization and is a senior technical member of the RMD Test Systems Technology Pyramid. TSPT employs multiple engineering and disciplines and is seeking top talent to join its creative and energetic engineering team. The candidate will report to Test Systems Product Team Senior Technical Staff Director working to define strategic solutions. This position offers remote work location with some travel as needed.

    The individual will have the opportunity to:

    • Develop and execute transformational initiatives to create operational discriminators in test solutions

    • Define and mature state-of-the-art and emerging technologies

    • Work in collaboration with the senior technical executives including the Chief Technologist and Senior Chief Engineer to establish, organize, and manage strategic R&D technological needs

    • Lead and/or support research projects to innovate and provide new / novel solutions for test problems

    • Architect and implement digital transformation engineering pipelines in support of automated analysis of machine learning, sensor processing, and target tracking as well as run research prototypes to validate solutions

    • Mentor the high potential engineering design staff

    • Serve as a recognized technical authority for the company to the manufacturing and test industry

    Responsibilities to Anticipate**:**

    • Ability to provide expert technical leadership to a multidiscipline team performing design, integration, and validation of RMD test products within the Test Systems Solution Center

    • Leading the definition of test environment architectures, providing technical leadership during all stages of systems development to support missile products test with an emphasis on manufacturing optimization and affordability

    • Manufacturing solutions across all RMD product lines and associated programs

    • Work with and through other engineering functions and will be accountable for the technical test solutions through the entire development lifecycle

    • Developing the strategies and architecture frameworks for all phases of the development of highly complex test systems which include automation, robotics, closed loop industrial motion, data acquisition and measurement science capabilities to provide metrology and tactical interfaces which integrate to test highly complex Units Under Test (UUT) at different levels of assembly up to final weapon configuration

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)

    • Minimum of 12 years’ of engineering experience OR an Advanced degree and 10 years’ of engineering experience

    • Minimum of 12 years’ experience with engineering design work in complex test system design and aerospace related test system architectures

    • Patents, Papers and/or Publications in related technical field

    • Experience in large scale engineering development and production manufacturing test systems

    • Experience in measurement science, test equipment and test methods

    • Experience in complex test systems’ integration, verification, validation and acceptance

    • Experience in diverse environments to define technical strategies and execution in response to technology growth

    • Proven technical leadership in leading senior multi-discipline engineers to drive innovative solutions and rapid results

    • New business capture experience including contribution or authoring of white papers, competitive proposal’s technical volumes and growth strategies

    • Technical expertise in test methodologies at circuit card assembly (CCA) level, card stacks and higher levels of product assemblies

    • Leadership experience in the industry of commercial test solutions

    • Experience in developing strategic partnerships with suppliers to drive affordable test solutions with minimal time to market

    • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Qualifications We Value**:**

    • Model based engineering (MBE) development experience

    • Experience with virtual verification of test systems

    • experience using PSpice, Timing Designer and Mentor Graphics, NI Test Stand, MatLab, Creo Schematic / Parametric and Rhapsody design tools

    • Experience with a variety of RF and Electro-Optical architectures and components

    • Experience with test and measurement of RF/EO circuits and devices, common RF/EO test equipment (ex. Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Power Meters, etc.), and RF/EO component / system integration

    • Risk and opportunity management experience
