    What’s the job?

    This position will manage the internal control compliance, standardization, and improvement across the Interior Products Group (Gypsum, Insulation, and Architectural solutions). Learn all 3 businesses through understanding business processes and how these processes best support internal controls.  Be a champion of financial process improvement and support the businesses through management of special processes and accounting as well as other special projects as they arise.   Some specific responsibilities include:

    • Maintain ownership of the annual compliance assessment procession in coordination with all functions of the business units as well as support segregation of duties review, development of mitigating controls were necessary, and manage the annual user access review. Represent IPG on the CertainTeed wide controls team supporting cross business knowledge and best practice sharing.

    • Develop and implement standardized internal control requirement calendar, tools to help monitor compliance, and regular reporting to management.

    • Manage all internal and external audit communication and support of deliverables. Address questions on both sides to ensure alignment. 

    • Manage specialized topics/processes within the business including but not limited to Precious Metals and LIFO.

    • Regularly participate in continuous improvement / Kaizen events across all functions as well was within the plants.

    • Work with IPG Finance team to improve the effectiveness of financial processes and analysis.  Incorporate new perspectives and experiences to existing processes and streamline where possible.

    Required Qualifications

    What do you bring?

    • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance with 10+ years of experience in progressive financial roles preferably with manufacturing experience. SAP system experience a plus.

    • Background in successfully developing and strengthening internal controls as well as an understanding of the importance of a strong internal control environment. Work history in internal and/or external audit a plus.

    • Ability to manage projects and teams, work independently, and communicate effectively to all areas and levels of the organization.

    • Act as a change agent for the group to achieve buy in while driving process and control improvement.

    • Travel to various plant locations to understand manufacturing processes, existing controls, and support business continuity testing is necessary.
