    The Cost Accountant is responsible to support the site controller and plant management by performing analysis of cost, production, and inventory for World Class Manufacturing (WCM), assisting with month end close, audit request and other special projects.

    They will develop, control, and manage cost accounting functions of the location to assure timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of the accounting function and attainment of corporate objectives. 

    Specific duties will encompass the following:

    Cost Maintenance: Work order reporting and analysis, product costing, cost roll-up, assist with internal procedures and policies. Run labor reporting and analysis. Assist with Inventory: cycle counts, Annual Inventory Count, inventory account reconciliation, inventory reserve maintenance and analysis, inventory Slow Moving, Obsolete & Shelf-Life Analysis.  Coordinate Bi-Weekly Trial Reviews.

    Monthly Close Process: Perform journal entry posting, balance sheet reconciliations, Inventory reporting, Spending Analysis, Smart View data input and WCM data inputs.

    Reporting & Analysis: Assist with site-specific financials, various variance analysis and department spending analysis.  Analyze site cost to determine areas of improvement – work on automation programs, etc.  Will be involved with working with & supporting all Managers for pulling data and creating analysis of the data to support their specific needs or projects.

    Fixed Asset Maintenance: Maintain a fixed asset roll forward schedule; work with project managers to confirm asset status. Ensure all fixed assets are placed into service timely and perform the Fixed Asset Inventory.  

    In addition, the Cost Accountant will undertake metrics, assist controller with special projects and audit requests.  Participate in the process of Internal Controls.  

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance (or related field); Required.

    1+ years of accounting experience in manufacturing environment; Preferred.  

    Familiarity with ERP systems; Preferred.  

    Advanced skills in MS PowerPoint, Excel & Word; Required.

    Strong knowledge of accounting/systems; Required.  

    Additional Description

    • Must have a sufficient understanding and knowledge of IT technology and Microsoft products. (Required)

    • QAD ERP experience (Preferred)

    • Experience with cost accounting, financial analysis, effective communication skill (1+ years preferred) 

    • Experience with month end close and balance sheet reconciliation (1+ years preferred)

    • Accounting/Finance experience in a manufacturing environment (1+ years preferred)
