    Job Summary

    “This Job Matters” - What’s the job?

    Reporting to the Plant Manager, the EHS Manager “Proactively” plans, directs, and implements plant safety and environmental programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. The EHS Manager is responsible for building a culture of safety and leads all aspects of the Plant’s compliance efforts with federal, state and local EHS regulations and all corporate and plant safety programs and policies. The EHS Manager is responsible to develop, maintain and/or execute plant and company strategic goals, including the successful completion of the annual EHS Plan. The EHS Manager will provide direction and leadership to all plant department managers, supervisors and employees in matters dealing with EHS related matters and will serve as coordinator for the plant’s various safety teams. Further, the EHS Manager will coordinate activities involving accident/ incident investigation and corrective response in all matters relating to promoting employee’s safe working environment in all areas at all times by correcting or reporting unsafe acts or conditions through appropriate channels to resolution.

    40% of Time:  Safety

    • Develop and lead overall site safety plan and systems including but not limited to …
    • Safety programs development and training,
    • Safety audits, inspections, compliance calendar, record keeping
    • Development of safety huddles. Ensure topics are value added, audit all shifts for compliance.
    • Systems and methods fopr identification and correction of all hazards
    • Development and management of JSA’s, LOTO, Machine Guarding. Includes training and audits.
    • Safety committee coordinator and safety team administrator,
    • OSHA compliance and
    • Gensuite implementation and building
    • network, share best practices with sister plants and other BU’s
    • lead efforts to implement new company safety tools/programs

    40% of Time:  Environmental and Health Compliance

    • lead program compliance for, ISA, BCP, GAPS and other E&H requirements. Ensure findings/observations are reconciled in a timely manner.
    • EHS program administration, training and reporting,
    • sampling and recordkeeping for all plant discharge and waste streams
    • proactively manage compliance inspections and represent the plant for all audits
    • maintain all applicable

    10% of Time:  Appropriation Requests

    • lead/write AR’s related to EH&S initiatives
    • Support plant with EH&S expertise as it relates to all CAPEX

    10% of Time:  Security

    • Coordinate all emergency response and relief

    • Ensure BCP us updated to include emergency response and crisis management.

    Required Qualifications

    “Your Skills Matter” - What do you bring?

    • EHS Manager must possess a four-year advanced degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

    • Three to five years’ experience in Safety, Environmental management or related field.

    • Professional certifications and licenses would include; member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, as a member of National Safety Council or as SARA/ CERCLA/ RCRA certified through a nationally recognized association

    • Decisions may significantly impact our business, affecting both financial, corporate image, and human and community relations.

    • Typical EHS management decisions include; ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, identifying good work behaviors from those that are unsafe and can carry a financial liability should those decisions be challenged through arbitration or adjudication.

    • Promote steps to ensure safety compliance to protect the health and well-being of employees through the prevention of injuries and fines. Decisions are framed around federal, state and local laws, regulations, and corporate and plant policies.
