The Electrical Engineer position exists to lead and manage all plant engineering activities for the Little Rock Plant. The scope of the Electrical Engineer encompasses the maintenance and upgrade of the grounds, buildings, and operational equipment, plan and direct engineering activities, provide security to and improvement of equipment and process, provide a work place free from recognized hazards and which meets specific safety and health standards put forth by OSHA, and other State and Federal organizations. Manage project initiatives designed to improve the effectiveness of the manufacturing process in areas of: safety, quality, productivity and efficiency by striving to ensure that all products, processes and procedures are in compliance with established company policies and specifications to consistently meet or exceed our customer expectations. This position acts as a liaison between all the major departments and is intended to be a “growth potential” step in development for a potential leadership/management role within the organization.
BS degree in electrical engineering, minimum of four (4) years’ experience of mechanical engineering in manufacturing environment. Knowledge of industrial automation and PLC’s. Ability to understand operational excellence principles and tools, such as 5S, SMED, Kaizen, Six Sigma green belt, and TPM. Strong computer skills, excellent time management, analytical, flexible in adapting to changing situations and business conditions. CAD or AutoCAD skills and or working knowledge of process engineering software. Ability to diagnose and prioritize opportunities in areas of savings, throughput improvement, and yield improvement. Must be able to design experiments and provide statistical analysis of those trials as to effectiveness.
Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Travel requirements up to 25%. Ability to work with each department throughout the site to improve various processes. Ability to wear all required PPE, including a respirator, if one is required in an area. Ability to meet varying work schedules when required or requested by manager. Must be able to meet deadlines with small windows of opportunity, from time to time. Must be alert and engaged, with appropriate sense of urgency relative to work assignments.
