The Facility & Equipment Engineer will maintain, develop, and improve the facilities, infrastructures and production equipment, while ensuring regulatory compliance for the Performance Ceramics and Refractories business. They will Execute complex projects to develop improved processes, equipment, and infrastructure upgrades. The Facility & Equipment Engineer will work with general guidance from the Facility Manager as well as the Plant Manager to set priorities and objectives within the framework of overall PCR business requirements. A self-directed and disciplined individual is required in order to provide unique technical innovations for all aspects of the business as related to the facilities, production equipment, and layouts. This position utilizes a thorough knowledge of various engineering principles and theories with a broad knowledge in more than one Engineering discipline to design, develop and/or improve equipment and/or mechanisms for machinery. The incumbent has operational responsibility for project management, including cost estimates, timetables, installation, debugging, and meeting of performance requirements. The Facility & Equipment Engineer will frequently function as part of a team on comprehensive projects and will often serve as a team leader. They may also serve in the role of consultant to line management and other engineers as a specialist in a particular technical area.
Project Management:
Technical Expert:
Provides technical support of facility and equipment planning, design, construction and maintenance to achieve efficiency and cost objectives.
Identify, justify, and implement new process technologies for new and existing products to improve process capability, improve the value stream, and reduce total cost.
Identify and lead cost reduction projects, requiring cross functional teamwork and global manufacturing site collaboration.
Design and develop new projects and system concepts that can expand product lines and profitability.
Provides technical direction to less experienced professionals within the business.
Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status.
Assist maintenance team with any difficult troubleshooting issues.
BS/BA in Engineering or related field of study
1-3 years of Manufacturing Experience
Project Management Skills – demonstrated ability to design, manage, and implement projects.
Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD , Inventor or Solidworks
Good organizational skills and recordkeeping
Strong attention to detail, ability to follow directions and meet deadlines
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legal and safety regulations
Shows exceptional safety leadership skills through displaying safe work practices at all times, and encourages and empowers other staff to do the same.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills and the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization and with customers are necessary. Must be able to influence leaders in all departments.
Ability of using various scientific rules and methods to solve problems coupled with the ability to detect and solve problems effectively.
