    Position Description

    Job Summary

    In this HR Generalist role, the candidate will be responsible for day-to-day HR Functions, serving as a resource to both employees and management in an effort to support the achievement of World Class Manufacturing business goals. As a member of the Performance Ceramics and Refractories HR team in Worcester, the individual will work as an HR Generalist within a manufacturing site employing approximately 260 employees. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day Human Resources Functions including: employee relations, recruiting and selection, HR Compliance, on-boarding, recordkeeping, training and development, compensation, benefits, leaves management, workers compensation and performance management. In addition, the person will deliver on human resources projects in support of ongoing business culture changes.

    • Provide HR solutions support, process knowledge advice, and support to assigned client groups. Coach functional leadership in assigned client groups on issues including application of HR policies and processes, Restructuring, and employee issues to ensure consistency.

    • Counsels Supervisors on performance management.

    • Maintain HRIS updates for hiring, promotions, terminations, transfers, etc. to ensure timely updates, following Saint-Gobain and Worcester, PCR established policy and procedures. 

    • Oversee and coordinate payroll functions.

    • Ensures alignment of HR KPIs with strategic and operating goals on a weekly basis.  Analyze data in order to identify process improvement opportunities.  

    • Works with Corporate to address benefits issues relating to the site (Medical/Wellness/Life-Disability/401K/Pension). 

    • Oversees recruiting activities to include vetting candidates, coordinating/participating in site interviews, and integrating new employees through orientation.

    • Support location in organizing training and maintenance of training records per local ISO 9001 and Saint-Gobain requirements. Creates and delivers training for new leaders in the plant to ensure consistency across departments.

    • Support the HR department with its involvement in World Class Manufacturing by being an active member on the People Development Pillar.

    • Provide on-site first level HR support to a 15-20 FTE site in Bow, New Hampshire one day a week. 

    Required Qualifications

    • BS/BA in Human Resources, Management, Behavioral Sciences or Related Field Required.

    • MS/MBA Human Resources Management Preferred

    • SHRM/PHR Certification Preferred

    • 2-3+ Progressive HR Experience, or related/ transferable experience required

    • 1+ Years HR Generalist experience in Manufacturing Environment preferred

    • Experience with HRIS, ATS, and Time & Attendance systems preferred

    • Strongorganizational and time management skills

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Experience with Microsoft Office/Office 365 Systems
