The Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains machinery and equipment. Performs general maintenance on the plant and office areas, including installation, carpentry, or plumbing as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Adhere to all safety procedures and best manufacturing practices
Possesses good diagnostic skills and be capable of recommending repairs, replacements or improvements.
Work from verbal and written instructions and use blueprints sketches, and schematic drawings.
Carry out and / or assist in the repair, construction, installation, and maintenance of various types of production process and auxiliary equipment.
Answer trouble calls and make repairs to minimize downtime.
Perform plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, masonry, and rigging work.
Be on call for weekend or non-regular hours when scheduled.
Overtime may be required
Housekeeping duties in specific work area and general plant
Associate Engineering Technology graduate or High School diploma/general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 3 years related work experience required
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, job folders, and memos
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to include conversions, weight measurements, volume, and distance
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve various issues involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
Ability to inspect, test, maintain and repair various issues on a variety of production and facility machines/equipment
Ability to use hand and power tools to fabrication, maintenance and repairs to accomplish work assignments
Ability to work independently on projects or assignments without close supervision or detailed instructions
Ability to work in a cross functional group of employees to resolve production related issues
