    Materials Handler - 1st shift

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Always work safely! The safety of our associates is our number one goal!

    • Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and materials storage area.

    • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.

    • Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.

    • Accurately locates and packs material for shipping.

    • Maintaining material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections.

    • Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items or signal machine operators to move material on and off trucks and loading docks.

    • Keep inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean and tidy.

    • Responsible to understand and follow safe handling procedures for all equipment, product, and chemicals as well as consulting any reference books, policy and procedures/protocol, when safety is in question.

    • When required, “hands on support” to others in assigned area as directed by the supervisor.

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • Organizational skills.

    • Ability to read and analyze information.

    • Basic mathematical abilities.

    • High attention to detail and acute observation skills.

    • Adapt to handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously.

    • Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines.

    • Excellent time management.

    • Process improvement mindset.

    • Ability to lift heavy materials.  Lift 30lbs consistently, up to 50lbs occasionally.

    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

    • Basic command of the English language, written and verbal.

    • Experience operating a forklift or pallet jack is preferred.
