    Job Summary

    PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:  Ensure accuracy of storeroom inventory receipts, courteous, professional service to our internal/external customers, and prompt resolution of issues. Adherence to all company safety policies and precautions while performing assigned tasks and at all times when on the premises.  This position reports directly to the MRO Storeroom Supervisor.

    NATURE & SCOPE OF POSITION

    • Work is primarily done in a parts storeroom setting.
    • Frequent interaction with other employees and outside vendors, both to provide service and ensure MRO Storeroom policies and procedures are adhered to.
    • Frequent production environment exposure which includes noise, dust, moving machinery, fork lifts, and fluctuations in temperature.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Receiving parts into computerized maintenance management software.  Issuing parts, to work orders, from computerized maintenance management software per department operating manual.  Working the storeroom to serve our internal customers. 

    • Use of e-mail communications proficiently and effectively.
    • Maintain a physical inventory of parts, equipment and tools using an inventory/job tracking database and scanning devices
    • Conduct cycle counts at various frequencies defined by the business
    • Verify data entries, check for errors and make adjustments as needed
    • Communicate with all levels of MRO parts distribution.
    • Organize/maintain your designated areas – storeroom and receiving, inspection and shipping in the designated area
    • Receive and unpack incoming orders, checking against items listed on requisitions, invoices or other order forms.
    • Knowledge and skills related to the purchasing process.
    • Knowledge and skills to generate reports and move throughout the computerized maintenance management system proficiently.
    • Report all EH&S incidents – Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.
    • Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.
    • Conduct required SMAT Audits and Near Miss reporting in accordance with plant goals and objectives.
    • Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
    • Participate in the development, understanding and review of this position’s JSA’s/SOP’s
    • Responsible for maintaining 5S system in the storeroom areas and the pilot plant.

    Understanding of technical terms for all parts used on the manufacturing floor and to assure complete understanding of what is considered to be “proper operating condition” for tools issued from the storeroom.  Complete understanding of the function relative to out going goods shipment.  Ability to discern what is sensitive information when it is received, and how to handle it.

    ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:  Manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas.   Manufacturing processes involve fiberglass, glycerin, latex and formaldehyde.   Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.  Normal office conditions will be 50%, production floor at 40% and 10% travel.

    Required Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES (SKILLS & ABILITIES):  

    Minimum of a high school graduate with at least 3 to 5 years experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with a working knowledge and understanding in the areas of maintenance tools and parts. Ability to work in a fast paced environment utilizing problem solving and prioritizing skills. High level of knowledge and understanding of computer systems and programs, especially proficient in Microsoft Office. SAP user or familiar with a maintenance computer management system.  Ability to professionally and effectively solve problems and remain calm at all in high-stress situations.  Must be able to multi-task and smoothly switch between software programs on a frequent basis throughout shift.

    PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:  

    Ability to safely operate fork lift, pallet truck, and crane hoist.  Ability to use safe lifting techniques, and carry 80 lbs.  Able to climb stairs on a routine basis.  Able to clearly communicate with variety of different types of personalities, in a professional manner.  Speak clearly so others understand, vision acuity to see details within a few feet of an observer, accepting of criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations, sensitivity to other’s needs, positive demeanor, and model change management for the business. Able to think through process steps that may take you on a convoluted path.  Because space can be limited in the storeroom area, depending on types of goods received, it is necessary to be able to safely maneuver through that space.
