The Business Development Manager will be critical to assist with accelerating our growth and increasing our revenues in the semiconductor market and EV battery market. This position seeks an innovative mind to analyze these markets worldwide, identify opportunities in the segments already served, and develop and follow new potential businesses.
The Business Development Manager role is an exciting customer-facing role responsible for creating new business opportunities and achieving new sales through market trend analysis, strategic partnership, new product co-development and introduction & new customer acquisition. This position will work closely together with the Business Manager to define and execute annual and long-term business plans for this new business segment.
This role requires excellent communication skills in building strategic partnerships. This role also requires having a clear, decisive way of communicating so that he/she can adapt solutions for different needs from various internal and external stakeholders. In some cases, Business Development Manager work closely with other Sales Representatives in conjunction to identify and close new business deals or expand existing business opportunities. In some other cases, Business Development Manager will be the very initial contact point from new customers and then primary interface of those new accounts.
As almost all end use markets are high-tech applications, it is an essential requirement for the business development manager to have a technical mastery of products, processes, and applications under the direction and with the support of the Business Manager. Relevant technical experience in ceramic materials, wet chemistry formulations, or battery would be highly preferred.
This position is based in Anaheim, California (highly preferred) or Worcester, MA where our manufacturing facility as well as R&D team resides. The incumbent has the great opportunity to interact with cross-functional teams regularly by being on the same site. This position requires ~30-40% travel time, including international travel.
Essential Functions
The New Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating new sales leads, acquiring new accounts, negotiating pricing, and forecasts sales revenue, in the markets of EV, battery, and supporting the development of our existing business in the Semicon market acquiring new accounts.
Analyze Market Trends and prepare forecasts.
Develop marketing material and promote products at trade shows and major industry-related events.
Identify needs where Saint-Gobain surface conditioning could develop new solutions in co-development with customers in the market of EV, whether it would be in the battery or other parts of the electric vehicle market, and co-develop new solutions together with R&D and operations, in line with our technical strengths and production capabilities
Support the Business manager, Engineered slurries in the further development of Semicon market, directly interfacing with the customer, and tailoring existing solutions to the need of the customer in order to increase sales
M.S. Degree in Science/Engineering discipline is required.
PhD. Degree in Material Science or Chemical Engineering or Chemistry is preferred.
5-7 years of work experience in the semiconductor or EV battery Industry including Sales, R&D, Process Engineering, Operations, and/or product management experience
