**Nightshift position-Hours are 11pm-7am
What’s the job?
Primary Functions:
Provide leadership & guidance for operational activities in all departments on the night shift. This position oversees the various plant departments to ensure all activities are executed in a safe and efficient manner.
Provides Supervisory support to all plant departments to ensure employees are following standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Exercises good judgment in the utilization of manpower, work in progress and operational adjustments.
Communicates & documents employee expectations and assess employee performance. Provides coaching and development opportunities and administer disciplinary action if needed.
Provides guidance to hourly employees to ensure they receive adequate training prior to performing tasks or operating any of the manufacturing equipment.
May be required to lead safety meetings and training sessions that have been developed by the training department.
May be required to assist in the evaluation and selection process of hiring hourly employees.
Assists in performing root-cause analysis as well as implementing sustainable countermeasures on losses related to production.
Assist the Production Supervisors in the operation of the production lines.
Investigate EH&S incidents – Injuries, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.
Conduct EHS and GenSuite Audits to support the plants EHS goals.
Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.
Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
Participate in the development, understanding and review of all position job safety assessments and standard operating procedures.
Maintains workplace organization to ensure good housekeeping (5S) by holding employees responsible for their assigned work areas.
Reviews and approves employee timekeeping (Kronos) and ensures employees are paid the correct wages in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
What do you bring?
4-year degree preferred (equivalent experience may be considered)
3+ years of Supervisory experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
Proficient in use of MS Office (familiarity with Kronos and SAP a plus)
General understanding of ISO methodology (ISO 9001)
General understanding of OSHA General Industry Regulations (1910)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S & Six Sigma a plus
