Job Summary
This position is the first management level supervising semi-skilled personnel, typically on an established shift and within a defined area. The incumbent sets work activities for off shifts and provides off-shift supervision with work detail for departments. The incumbent works within a framework of established standard practices and procedures. The incumbent has only limited latitude to deviate from the priorities established by production schedules. The incumbent may be required to provide actual off-shift supervision and be on call as necessary. The incumbent’s role focuses heavily on training and directing the subordinate personnel in their assigned tasks. When serving on the off shifts, the incumbent may cover several areas and his/her role will emphasize more coordinated activities. Provides direct supervision of premix technicians to ensure product meets or exceeds all established quality requirements. Includes support of systems necessary for production and day to day task distribution. Participates in related personnel activities, including pre-employment interviews, training, performance appraisal (where applicable), discipline, and safety. Determines priorities based on established weekly production schedules and makes daily assignments. Participates in inventory management for the facility and works with the purchasing group to maintain necessary raw material inventory levels as production demands.
Required Qualifications
Two year technical degree or equivalent additional experience in a field related to business administration or manufacturing - required Three (3) plus years experience in supervision, preferably in manufacturing.
