The Production Supervisor plans and executes work required in accordance with customer demand and quality requirements by managing the staff work schedules and promoting a highly efficient, organized and safe work environment. He / She will be responsible for meeting weekly requirements and modifying schedules as needed to support the business. Responsible for departmental performance measures including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to the Operations Manager. Ensures effective employee relations, to include all aspects of performance management, investigations, and problem resolution. Ensures all employees are performing their work in a manner that is in accordance with Saint-Gobain standards and must set a good example. Must provide outstanding leadership and collaborate closely with all shifts and departments as necessary.
Saint-Gobain operations run 24 hours a day, 5 days a week but on occasion will run 24/6 or 24/7.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Bow Plant to meet safety, throughput and quality goals. Includes scheduling and assigning personnel; developing and maintaining the production schedule, establishing priorities; monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, materials management, and MRP system management and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
Execute WCM/continuous improvement activities including KPI reporting, maintenance of ISO 9001 systems, 5S activities, Minor/Major Kaizens, Root Cause Investigation.
Oversee manufacturing staff by training, communicating job expectations, monitoring and appraising job results, developing personal growth opportunities, coaching, counseling and disciplining employees. Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance - Incident Reporting and Investigation, Compliance Assurance monitoring, and Permitting (LOTO, Confined Space, etc.).
Backfill operator positions during employee absences, vacations, and etc.

Must be able to climb a ladder/stairs, be comfortable at heights, operate equipment that is in constant motion, use of both hands at working height and periodic use able head
Ability to stand/walk, particularly for sustained periods of time
Ability to lift/move a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly
Ability to operate a forklift and work in confined spaces as needed
Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Management, Engineering or related field (preferred)
5 or more years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
Demonstrated experience in developing teams and individual employees
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
Strong leadership/managing skills, to include data analysis and problem solving
