    We are looking for driven, energetic Sales and Applications Engineer to join our team in Amherst, NY.  The Sales and Applications Engineer is responsible for achieving annual sales target for a specific sales territory as assigned by Business Unit's management.  The position reports to the Product Manager. 

    The incumbent develops new and existing accounts, markets, and sales of new products in accordance with the Business Unit's Business Plan.  Maintains the  highest level of knowledge possible of the Business Unit's products, their applications, services and policies.  Provides technical sales support to all customers within the assigned territory.  Provides management with market information and competitive updates and maintains cognizance of all market influences.  Manages channels of distribution. Penetrates and develops new accounts and products while maintaining existing business and integrating product/ process and application knowledge into a successful territory plan.

    Provides essential assistance internally and externally within seven different markets; Aerospace, Metallurgy, Electronics, Semiconductor, Polymer processing, Cosmetics, Energy Storage, and more. This work will be in the form of problem solving, making connections, understanding the value chains, and market research. Development done in these markets will directly play a key role in strategic planning for the business.

    • 50% new business development

    • 40% management of relationships of key accounts

    • 10% market analysis, internal business processing (3 year planning, yearly budget), and marketing support

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in a technical science, i.e. Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or equivalent

    • Masters degree preferred

    • Minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience in a commercial (sales, marketing) role in technical field, including market research - required

    • Must have a technical understanding of Ceramics and their applications

    • Must have knowledge of customers, markets, technologies and applications related to electronics, semiconductor, industrial and molten metals processing. Strong knowledge of ceramic coatings.

    • Must efficiently utilize digital tools related to Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Office (Excel & Powerpoint)

    • Applications engineering experience in Aerospace, Metallurgy, Electronics, Semiconductor, Polymer processing markets - highly preferred

    • Coatings, polymer processing, ceramic coatings experience - preferred
