    Job Summary

    What’s the job?

    The primary purpose of this job is to provide financial analysis support to the SBM North America management through ownership of SGA tracking, budgeting, organizational changes, and analysis. Additionally, the person will be responsible for monthly of gathering & consolidating financial and non-financial measures and commentary on business results.  Other responsibilities include internal & external audit support and compliance reporting responsibilities, support in development and analysis of the annual budget, and other Ad-hoc activities as required.

    Reporting & SGA Expense Planning, Monitoring, and Controlling

    • High level summary reporting of SGA status, opportunities, and risks on a monthly basis.
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month end financial close as well as the execution of all reporting requirements.
    • Responsible for running month end close process, provide the analytical support to understand and explain the primary drivers and variations in business performance.
    • Review and ensure the accuracy of financials.
    • Ownership of AD hock analysis as required by staff as well as proactive investigation of unusual items and potential opportunity areas.
    • Lead the annual SGA budget utilizing a prepopulated web-based financial tool and distributed to cost center managers. Complete analysis including reconciliations and trending presentations.

    Budget and Forecast Development

    • Lead the annual preparation of the budget and rolling forecasts with support of Manager and Director as needed. Primary responsibility for coordinating and building SG&A budgets/forecasts working with business managers and department heads to ensure that all budgeting requirements are disseminated, understood, and completed as required. 
    • Understand the relationship of budget build to SIF reporting structure and ownership in building the details for Magnitude submission.
    • Manage and own the development of any analytics necessary for understanding of the key variances in period over period performance

    Business Decision Analysis

    • Perform financial analyses and make recommendations to support strategic decision making as needed. This involves working closely with managers in all functional areas to assess the financial viability of various business considerations.

    Capital Expenditures

    • Manage Month end reporting
    • Capex+ support and standardization
    • AR process improvement
    • Quality assurance
    • Strategic project analytics/simulations
    • Working closely with Manufacturing department
    • Post capex audits

    Back-up support for financial systems

    • Learn and understand the various SAP modules and the connection between the system activities and the financials.

    • Support Director of Financial analysis in SAP testing when IT is performing developments based on critical tickets.

    • Backup admin for various financial/finance supported systems including CAPEX+, Tagetik, QlikView, IA workflow, and GL Wands.

     DEPTH OF KNOWLEDGE OF THE PRACTICAL PROCEDURES / SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with analysis experience, complementary work experience
    • MBA degree in Finance or CPA, CMA preferred

    Work Experience

    • Minimum of 5+ years of related business experience or 7+ years without an advanced degree. Strong emphasis should be put on experience in these areas: budgeting and forecasting in a manufacturing environment; analysis of operating results; product profitability evaluations; development of financial models to assess, among other things, cost/volume/profit relationships
    • Cost accounting / analysis experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
    • Strong IT skills and aptitude to deliver effective desktop reporting (paperless web-enabled environment), utilize GL Wands and MS Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentations as well as SAP ERP knowledge.

    • Strong communication skills (oral and written) are essential.  The successful individual must also be able to interact well with senior management, sales and marketing teams, and others in all functions.

    • Previous experience (minimum 3 years) analyzing financial performance.

    • An advanced level of proficiency in Excel is required

    • Understand the computation and analysis of cash flow and return on investments (e.g. for new product launches).

    • Proven experience of increasing responsibility in Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, or Financial Analysis.

    • Accuracy and attention to detail is also required as this position will be looking at a great deal of information from various sources small dollar items must be investigated and understood.
