The Shipping Lead is a critical role for the business. The selected incumbent will coordinate and processes customer shipments while also leading the department by providing direction to Material Handlers (ensuring they are packing the right product at the right time correctly and effectively), closely reviewing all paperwork for accuracy and implementing process improvements.
The Shipping Lead will be responsible in driving department optimization and organization while in compliance with our standards, policies and procedures as well as practicing Saint-Gobain’s Mission and Vision and Values all while maintaining a safe work environment for oneself and the team. This role will be working closely with the department Supervisor, as well as the other departments within the site working towards the common goal of getting quality parts to our customers in a timely manner.
The Shipping Lead will work on individual projects that center around 5S, organizing and department improvements including but not limited to:
Space Optimization
Performing root cause analysis – investigating errors and discrepancies and implementing process improvements
Audits
Data collection
Reviewing and updating work instructions and procedures
This position requires a seasoned professional with preferred shipping knowledge who is quick to learn and able to multi-task and is detail oriented. Willing to train the right person but must be able to keep a calm demeanor during stressful situations, make quick decisions and lead through positive interactions. This individual will have heavy interactions with the other team members working in the shipping department but will also collaborate with all departments throughout the Garden Grove, CA site.
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Fork Lift experience desired
1 - 2 years experience working in Shipping and/or Supply Chain required
1 - 2 years experience leading a team
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal is required
Must have knowledge/experience working in QAD or other ERP systems
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Must be proficient with computers and MS office programs
Ability to work overtime on a daily basis

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the local pay range for this position, which is $20.74 to $26.50 per hour. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures.
The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks)) for this position, is $47,400 to $60,600. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.]
