    Job Summary

    Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Sr. Quality Lead has direct responsibility for implementing, maintaining, and facilitating continuous quality improvement objectives for the Quality Department Exceptional communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills are required in order to interface with customers, operators, and staff. Evaluation of effectiveness of inspection and process control mechanisms is an integral part of this position. Development of systems and procedures, training of personnel in the use of quality tools, identification of needed quality laboratory improvements and continual monitoring and reporting of key performance indicators is required. Implementation, maintenance and control of systems & practices which monitor, assess, and approve the quality of materials and products at all stages of production. Responsible for implementing, maintaining, and facilitating continual quality improvement objectives, ISO 9001. Other responsibilities include: - Abide by company policies, procedures and code of conduct/action. -Develop and maintain incoming inspection, in-process and final lot test plans for the Merrimack Site. -Coordinate and respond to customer quality request/requirements related to Merrimack product testing. -Identify and implement quality improvements based on facility, customer, ISO 9001 and good manufacturing practices requirements. -Train personnel in use of "quality tools" (ie. SPC, Gage R&R, 5-Whys, Ishikawa, etc.) -Proficient in operation of all department equipment in assessing quality level of products and processes including custom (Biax tester, Load, Duration) testing devices. -Perform Internal and External Quality Audits as directed. -Develop and maintain electronic information databases as required. -Direct, monitor and evaluate activities of supervised Quality Inspectors/Technicians and wide product inspector. -Recommend/ develop project initiation or equipment, and instrumentation as scheduled or required. -Participate in self-development and training of others. -Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard. -Evaluate and manage Quality Inspector workloads continually and develop business case for department personnel additions.

    Required Qualifications

    Education Level : • Bachelor's Degree Industrial or Mechanical Engineering ideal - Required • Master's Degree MBA or equivalent - Preferred Work Experience: • 2 - 3 years experience Knowledge on the measurement of silicon parts utilizing a Nikon Measurement system. Experience running and programming Nikon measurement systems -Preferred • 2 - 3 years experience Experience working in a Liquid Injection Molding operation making medical device components - Required • 3 - 5 years experience In manufacturing environment/quality field, working with ISO (ISO 9001, ISO 13485 quality systems). - Required • 2 - 3 years experience In a supervisor role with direct reports. - -Required Other Knowledge and Ability : • Excellent analytical / problem solving, project management, interpersonal and organizational skills required. - Required • Proficient with Microsoft Access, Excel and Word required. - Required • Must be a team player. Must have effective communications skills both written and verbal to interface with internal and external personnel and customers in a professional manner. - Required • Must work well in a team environment, possess an ability to adapt to change in the environment, and have proven ability to exert influence in a directive and positive manner. - Required • Must be able to lead, manage, and motivate a team through direct management or matrix management. Required Licenses and Certifications • Green Belt - Preferred

    Essential Functions: Supervise, lead and develop quality technicians and specialists. Problem solving/data analysis/implementation of corrective actions. Monitoring performance of assigned teams and programs/reporting results/elevating gaps. Customer complaint investigation/audit finding investigation/providing audit support. Strategic planning for current and future laboratory, environmental monitoring and calibration program improvements.
