Communicate with carriers on a daily basis to secure required equipment for delivery or receipt of material.
Communicate daily with customer service departments as a means to monitor expected shipping requirements.
Monitor carriers daily to ensure defined performance criteria is met.
Support the logistic and overall supply plan and recognize where changes in capacity requirements may impede carrier related service.
Utilize TMS, SAP, and SalesForce and other system-related tools to tender loads, monitor freight cost, shipment capacities and service performance for assigned locations.
Enter and investigate carrier-related service exceptions and follow up with carriers when corrective actions are needed.
Request Bill of Lading or other delivery information required to file or settle a claim with a carrier.
Request Bill of Lading or other delivery information as requested by customer service representatives.
Participate in monthly carrier meetings as required and present performance data.
Stay up to date with national transportation guidelines and requirements.
Dispatch shipments to ensure on-time delivery, while maintaining cost targets.
Maximize house carrier turns and maintain carrier commitment levels.
Proactively address service failures and identify solutions.
High School Diploma Required, Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Business or other related discipline in process.
Ability to work independently to meet established deadlines
Understands transportation rate structures and networks
Strong systems aptitude, with experience in ERP, Warehouse Management and/or Transportation Management systems, experience with SAP a plus
Strong analytical skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Good verbal and written communication skills
