Overnight Shift Operations Manager

Job Description: What This Position Is All About: The role of Operations Manager is responsible for the management and execution of initiatives within the fulfillment center. As an innovative leader, this position will drive efficiencies, increase productivity, and reduce costs while ensuring all service mandates are met. The Manager is responsible for providing direction in all areas of the daily operation. Coaching and developing a team to create a culture of continuous improvement through associate engagement that supports our company values. Work diligently to ensure Health and Safety is a priority while providing strong leadership and guidance to their immediate team; resulting in a safe, cost effective and productive environment. Who Are You: BA /BS or equivalent of 3-5 years in a fulfillment center environment Industry expertise and proven leadership skills Proven problem solving and analytical skills (root cause critical thinking) Excellent relationship building and collaboration Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal Continuous Improvement experience You Also Have: -BA /BS degree preferred, 1-4 years of post-college business experience preferably in an automated retail fulfillment environment. Knowledge of automated order fulfillment systems, e.g. tilt tray sortation, ASRS, pick-to-light, pack-to-light, carrousel, A-Frame, etc. Knowledge of WMS systems, quality measurements and processes. Effectively interact in a team environment with senior leadership, peer group, and relate to and motivate an hourly and salaried team. Develop, implement, and execute specific fulfillment strategies and partner with peers and corporate business partners within Saks Fifth Avenue operations. Clearly demonstrate management of multiple tasks at the same time Flexibility in working different shifts/schedules to include weekends. Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet established deadlines Frequently lift up to 55 pounds. May operate warehouse equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jack, cherry picker) which requires some coordinated movements. MS Office Suite proficiency. As The Operations Manager, you will: Provide leadership and direction for responsible departments within the fulfillment center to include Inbound, Outbound, Quality or Returns as well as other areas as needed. This position is responsible for the productivity and performance accuracy of these areas of the operation. Operate a Goods-to-Person automated system along with supporting fulfillment systems. Make recommendations and assist in formulation of departmental objectives, policies, and plans. Plan, examine, analyze and evaluate fulfillment center operations with respect to productivity standards, safety, and customer support. Evaluate current procedures; identify, resolve operational problems; ensure company standards are met. Responsible for assisting in the creation and implementation of training programs for associates to include improving communication between departments and associate development of supervisory skills, interpersonal skills, and technical skills.
