Staff Software Engineer

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 5+ years of experience as a software engineer Degree in computer science or a related area Ideal language experience: Java, JavaScript Confidence in TypeScript Experience leading a group of engineers: Mentoring engineers in best practices Overseeing adherence to code quality standards Leading by example Managing code repositories through peer reviews and developer feedback Experience in relational databases Writing, maintaining, optimizing, and mentoring in SQL Experience in ORMs is a plus Balanced experience in both front-end and back-end software engineering ○ Server-side experience: API Frameworks/Libraries: Spring Boot, Express, NestJS, Fastify Languages: Object-Oriented and Typed such as Java, C/++, TypeScript, C# Developing and deploying services within a micro-service architecture Familiarity with asynchronous data, namely message queues, is a plus Front-end experience: UI Frameworks/Libraries: React, Vue, NextJS, Angular Languages: JavaScript (utilizing TypeScript) Developing and deploying web applications: single page apps and/or progressive web apps Familiarity with themed UI component libraries such as Material UI, Semantic UI, or Mantine is a plus Experience with Docker and containerized deployments Experience delivering to a public cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure Experience with Kubernetes and container-based deployment solutions is desired Experience with micro-service architectures Deliver non-breaking changes without downtime Experience working in an Agile or Scrum-like environment Experience facilitating a team's sprint through tools such as Jira or Pivotal Strong confidence with version control management: git and github Preferred: Familiarity with unit testing libraries for both server-side and client-side repositories Preferred: Experience in supply chain or ecommerce enterprise projects Preferred: Experience building high availability, low latency, and high throughput systems Your Life and Career at Saks: Exposure to rewarding career advancement opportunities A culture that promotes a healthy, fulfilling work/life balance Benefits package for all eligible full-time employees (including medical, vision and dental).
