    Position summary

    ve to accelerate the adoption of Slack within the public sector, driving sales growth and building lasting relationships with government customers across New South Wales, Queensland, and the Federal Government. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in the government sector to lead all aspects of the sales process-from strategic account planning and lead qualification to negotiation and closing-while developing long-term partnerships with key stakeholders. This quota-carrying position is pivotal to our success, offering the opportunity to work collaboratively within Salesforce's broader sales ecosystem while also taking ownership of independent go-to-market initiatives.     Some of the things you'll be doing include:

    • Creating and implementing effective territory and account plans for your region and customer base.

    • Developing a deep understanding of Government and Public Sector customers, including regulatory changes, government initiatives, and procurement cycles.

    • Positioning Slack's unique capabilities to address the specific needs of government entities, helping them modernise collaboration and improve efficiency.

    • Meeting and exceeding sales goals (quotas) through prospecting, qualifying, managing, and closing sales opportunities within your assigned territory.

    • Leading and leveraging a matrix account team, including Business Development Representatives, Solution Engineers, Marketing, Inside Sales, and Customer Success. Together, you will develop and execute a territory plan to manage the sales pipeline and enhance customer relationships.

    • Co-selling effectively with Salesforce Cloud Sales Executives and other cross-functional teams to maximise Slack's impact within government accounts.

    • Understanding the competitive landscape, particularly Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, and Zoom, and positioning Slack as the preferred collaboration platform.

    • Building and managing strategic partner alliances, ensuring alignment with government priorities and procurement processes.

    • Maintaining accurate CRM data, ensuring that account status and sales opportunities are well-documented to support forecasting and strategic decision-making.

    • Nurturing and expanding relationships with public sector accounts by building trust and deeply understanding their unique challenges, including budget constraints, regulatory requirements, and evolving government policies.

    • Effectively communicating with leadership, customers, partners, and extended teams to ensure alignment with public sector needs.

    • Participating in team-building and company-growth activities, such as strategic planning, sales training, customer marketing efforts, and volunteering.

    • Travelling to customer locations in support of sales efforts across NSW, QLD, and Federal Government.
