Sales
The Sales Strategy Director - AMER will lead the regional MuleSoft AMER Strategy team, providing MuleSoft’s AMER leaders with strategic insights and complex analyses to accelerate business performance across our entire cross-functional sales motion. This role reports to the Global Head of Sales Strategy and works in close partnership with our AMER sales leader.
You will dive deep into our KPIs, testing well-formulated hypotheses with rigorous quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify trends, hotspots, and opportunities. Armed with data, you will champion change across field functions, securing buy-in and influencing behaviors at all levels to drive significant and lasting impact in the form of larger deals and higher win rates. This role will have broad exposure to many aspects of executive-level decision making at a high-growth software company including go-to-market strategy, business planning, sales optimization, and pipeline analysis.

You will lead a team of four high performing strategists that support the different leadership teams across AMER (US, Canada, Latin America). You will collaborate with MuleSoft’s strategy leaders around the globe to develop and share best practices, maximizing the productivity of our Distribution organization and accelerating our customers’ digital transformation journeys.

Prioritizes time across both near-term operational needs and longer-term strategic initiatives
Responsibilities will include a mix of project-based as well as operating activities, such as
Analyzing sales funnel performance to ensure adequate demand in out-quarters
Annual business planning support including demand generation and bookings modeling
Plan and facilitate quarterly business reviews and executive off-site meetings
Create CEO-ready presentations by leveraging the Field Analytics team’s business intelligence products and partnering with business leaders to craft compelling storylines
Ad-hoc data analysis and modeling to support executive decision making
Sales pipeline and AE productivity analysis and interpretation of KPIs
Support initiatives to optimize partnerships with Salesforce’s core sales teams
Assist in troubleshooting operational issues as they surface and propose changes to systems/processes to fix root causes

Required skills and experiences
Track record of converting ideas to impact
8+ years work experience with relevant analytical, leadership, and people management skills
Exceptional problem solving skills: demonstrated ability to structure complex problems, apply logical reasoning, perform quantitative analysis, and develop and implement solutions
Ability to execute quickly with high attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Comfort communicating with senior business leaders (written and oral), ability to win over strong personalities, and reconcile competing points of view
Self-starter with a high degree of motivation to understand root causes
Ability to adjust on the fly to new demands; sense of urgency and prioritization
Advanced Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets modeling capabilities
Familiarity with subscription software business models a plus
Experience in Salesforce CRM a plus
Experience in Tableau Desktop and SQL a plus
Experience in consulting, investment banking, enterprise technology sales/strategy, FP&A, or a similar role
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (mathematics, economics, or business a plus)
