Finance and Operations
The Finance Automation and Cloud ERP team is currently seeking an experienced professional to lead the implementation and optimization of business processes. This position will understand processes from the business user perspective and identify opportunities to standardize global processes. The Finance Automation and Cloud ERP is a team embedded within our Controllership organization but that represents all stakeholders across Finance on our transformation journey. This transformation includes the implementation of Workday Financials, a complement to our existing Workday HCM footprint, as well as the associated underlying business processes. It also includes optimization of our Source to Pay processes using the Coupa platform as well as the implementation of a new indirect tax engine. This team supports Method 3 of our Corporate Strategy Initiatives to build streamlined, automated, intelligent and efficient processes with modern technology.
As the Business Owner for the Business Process Optimization workstream, this role will be accountable for driving the overall process standardization and simplification for the Cloud ERP initiative. the position will work within a matrixed organization to accelerate and streamline our process delivery methodology. This position will work in a fast-paced, high growth environment with aggressive timelines and often competing priorities. The candidate must have solid foundation and understanding of business processes and experience in transforming existing business processes while maintaining SOX compliance. This position will be required to envision “the art of the possible” through Workday’s and Coupa’s out-of-the-box functionality as we drive toward our goals of simplified technology architecture and reduced manual controls. The position will work across functional teams to design and develop transformed business processes that meet business needs. Critical business partnerships must be developed within the Global Finance organization, Business Technologies and the SOX/Compliance organizations in order to facilitate transformational changes within those organizations. The Business Owner will be the primary point of contact to support the external Business Integrator that specialize in process innovation to achieve Salesforce’s goals throughout the Cloud ERP program.
Success in this role will require creativity to re-imagine possible future processes with “out of the box functionality” that will enable our ability to scale through automation. Scope will include a range of use cases that will improve operational processes and automate key SOX controls. The overall focus of this role is to enable successful ERP delivery and long term operational stability. This position will report to the Senior Director, Finance Automation and Cloud ERP overseeing all business and functional workstreams for the overall Cloud ERP initiative.
Lead multi-disciplinary teams responsible for improving business processes within Cloud ERP implementation
Responsible for the long term strategic process design and delivery for Cloud ERP implementation.
Ensure Cloud ERP design & testing aligns with the overall strategic process methodology and objectives. This includes working across finance functions, business integration consulting teams, system integration consulting teams, and internal BT teams.
Responsible for overseeing process design workshops and helping solve complex business problems with innovative thinking and ideas.
Partner closely with the Change and Communication workstream within Cloud ERP to drive process consistency and delivery. Proactively identify impacts to end users and recommend ways to mitigate the change impact to the business.
Accountable for the delivery of business processes to support Workday Financials’ out-of-the-box functionality.
Responsible for Cloud ERP process design library to house all future state end to end Cloud ERP processes.
Contribute to process education and training for successful ERP process delivery.
Build strong cross functional relationships across the different levels within the organization, influencing other key leaders including the Finance Leadership Team to optimize processes and operations for scale, growth, and efficiency.
Experience / Skills(Required)
10+ years of experience in Business Process Optimization/Reengineering applying Process Improvement, Modeling and Re-engineering methodologies to conduct Process Optimization and Improvement Projects
BA/BS in a relevant field or equivalent skills
Experience in Enterprise System Implementations, including driving ERP innovation through process improvement
Background in Finance operations and processes which can include S2P (Source to Pay), O2C (Order to Cash), and R2R (Record to Report)
Collaborating with a diverse global team and comfortable operating in a matrixed organization
Strong communication and persuasion skills with ability to tailor messages and influence key audiences accordingly
Strong communicator who is able to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbal and in writing to various audiences
Strong experience in software/ SaaS industry including ability to work through ambiguity and thrive in fast-paced environments.
Leading with influence rather than leveraging business title or hierarchy in an environment of minimal mandates. Strong track record of business partnership
