The Privacy organization at Salesforce is looking for an experienced engineering leader who is passionate about solving complex problems. We’re an integral part of the Salesforce Customer 360 vision and building the next generation of Privacy products with the goal of tightly integrating across all Salesforce products.

We are expanding the Privacy Center to meet the needs of Salesforce Customer 360 making it easy for customers to manage their privacy needs across all Salesforce Products. We are in the next chapter of our growth that will enable our customers to retain, delete, anonymize and transfer their data while meeting data privacy laws like GDPR, CCPA and CPRA. You'll solve hard engineering problems around security, availability, scalability, replication, and user experience. You’ll help us write our next chapter of both B2B and B2C growth.

Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation and manage technical projects while balancing tactical and strategic work streams in alignment with business objectives and priorities.

  • Daily management of objectives, priorities, trade offs, risks, and performance of all cross-functional staff as the scrum master for one or more engineering teams.

  • Ensure your teams have clear priorities and adequate resources and empower them to self organize.

  • Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members.

  • Drive quality practices, standards, and metrics to achieve high levels of service availability and customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain high morale and motivate the delivery teams to go above and beyond.

  • Be a vocal advocate for technical excellence and help your teams make good decisions.

  • Participate in architectural discussions and planning with Architects, Product Management, and senior Engineering leadership.

  • Develop and influence product vision by working with Product Management, Engineering, Support, Infrastructure, Operations, and our customers.

  • Actively manage and resolve production issues for our customers while adhering to strict internal SLAs.

  • Communicate status, risks, and offer mitigation strategies to cross-functional teams and high-level management in order to ensure on-time delivery of all committed projects.

  • Promote our cultural values by recruiting and hiring only the most qualified individuals with an eye toward diversity.

  • Represent the company’s and cloud’s unique identity at each of our sites and across teams to ensure a common sense of purpose and community.

  • Foster a culture of service ownership to facilitate customer success and operational excellence.

  • Travel to Salesforce offices is required several times per year to organize and facilitate on site release planning and team building activities.

Skills

  • 8+ years experience leading software development teams with a distinguished track record of delivering technically demanding projects for public consumption.

  • 6+ years experience as a people manager and scrum master of one or more large, fast-paced, and dynamic engineering teams.

  • 6+ years experience as a Software Engineer developing modern, distributed, web-based applications.

  • An enterprise and a security mindset.

  • Managing complex projects requiring a deep understanding of the application logic and dependencies.

  • Quickly establishing credibility with experienced engineers and architects.

  • Motivating people, instilling accountability, and achieving results.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Impeccable organizational and time management skills.

  • Hiring smart, talented engineers, managers, and architects.

  • Nimble, proactive, and comfortable working with ambiguous specifications as well as prioritizing on the fly.

  • Experience with short release cycles and the full software development lifecycle.

  • Platform development or management experience.
