Infra Mgmt Sys Eng (1P)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the platform infrastructure - provide capacity and ensure availability
• Support our commitment to continuous integration, unit tests, and functional automation
• Lead the team in definition of sub-component requirements and accurately forecast project effort
• Provide attention to detail and a dedication to delivery of high-quality, stable deliverables
• Work seamlessly as part of a multi-site, multi-cultural, production, development and testing team
• Support the e-commerce production environment at the substrate level
• Hardware remediation (memory, disks, cpu, motherboard, nic, power supply, storage subsystem)
• Be self-motivated; driven to achieve and exceed committed milestones
• Display strong collaboration skills, including the ability to mentor and be mentored
• Desire to work in a growing, fast-paced environment of innovation
• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to address complex problems in real-time and keep services operational and highly available

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of System Engineering experience working with large scale deployments
• Ability to share and collaborate with peers via presentations and written technical documentation
• Experience developing or operating in SaaS applications
• Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins experience a plus)
• Excellent technical and people skills are an absolute necessity
• Proficiency in scripting with languages such as Bash and at least one high level programming language such as Python, Go.
• Strong Linux experience, especially CentOS/RHEL/OL

Desirable

• Core database (SQL) skills including ability to execute and debug complex queries
• Experience with Scrum in an Agile Development environment
• BS or MS degree in Computer science or equivalent
• Experience with configuration management systems (ex. Chef, Puppet, CFengine, etc...)
