Salesforce is searching for an entry network engineer to join Salesforce's Network Trust Operations (NTO) team—the team responsible for maintaining software/firmware security compliance for network equipment deployed across Salesforce first-party data centers.

As an NTO engineer, you'll tackle the responsibility to ensure that software/firmware deployed across Salesforce first-party data centers is patched to the most secure version available to maintain security compliance. You will also be working on creating and modifying procedures that will be applied to perform the software/firmware upgrade tasks, while maintaining the highest possible network uptime.
 

Responsibilities

• Ensure documented processes are followed while providing vital feedback focussed on safety and agility of the processes involved.
• Perform high-level troubleshooting and analysis to resolve root cause when network outages occur during software/firmware upgrades.
• Isolate hardware and software problems on network devices and work with vendors to resolve issues as necessary.
• Perform proactive network audits to help strategize software/firmware rollouts across the entire fleet.
• Work collaboratively with engineering teams to identify ways in which we can proactively improve the stability of the network and decrease potential for future outages.

Required Skills

• Experience with managing computer networks
• Basic proficiency in UNIX and TCP/IP network fundamentals
• Knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, and ISIS
• Experience coding in at least one language
• Ability to learn new development languages (Python and GO)
• Ability to pick up new concepts around network design and management
• Ability to communicate cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of working on multi vendor networks
• Knowledge of Load Balancing
