At Salesforce, the DevOps Consultant will be part of the Global Delivery Centre (GDC) within the Salesforce Professional Services organization. The GDC includes technical and functional subject matter experts who implement Salesforce Industry products, to meet customer needs whilst leveraging Salesforce best practices.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a talented DevOps Consultant to implement systematic solutions which would fit best across the technical, operational, and management standards. The consultant will be responsible for supporting the full implementation lifecycle, in an evolving ecosystem consisting of Clients and Partners on high-volume, high-performance client-facing applications.
The DevOps Consultant will design and support deployment releases for applications that are part of cloud-based, mobile, and/or on-premise environments. The consultant will also be responsible for maintaining, on an ongoing basis, a comprehensive understanding of the cloud-computing ecosystem.
This individual will play a strategic role by using their more technically oriented skill sets to service and support clients during and post-launch. In this role, one must drive ongoing innovation and collaborate with our Customer Success teams using up-to-date programs and tools to assist our customers in achieving successful outcomes, and growing their business on the Salesforce platform.
Specific responsibilities include:
Analyzing, executing, and streamlining DevOps practices and facilitating the development process and automation.
Review existing DevOps strategies and provide recommendations for improvement.
Gather requirements, design, and implement new DevOps strategies and architect overall, comprehensive and efficient practices.
Design and implement CI/CD pipeline by enabling suitable DevOps channels across the organization.
Design and write build scripts in scripting languages like perl, shell, or python.
Design process/schedule to deliver completed development to various environments.
Verify successful continuous delivery deployments to various environments.
Design org and branching strategies and maintain version control repositories by rebasing the code from org to repo.
Monitor and review continuous delivery validation build for failures.
Conduct the sessions for the best practice around the development and deployment lifecycle for developers and operations teams.
Developing self-service tools to enhance developer productivity for application management
Proactively collaborate across multiple teams in the organization to ensure that the requirements are captured and met by tooling provided
Developing the POCs to demonstrate the viability of new ideas and technologies to support the innovation
Ability to manage teams with a leadership mindset.
Required Skills/Experience:
5+ years experience in advanced Git (e.g., conflict resolution, cherry-picking, rebasing), one or more popular CICD tools. Up-to-date knowledge of the available commercial toolchains for DevOps like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Bitbucket pipelines, Bamboo, Gitlab, etc.
Experience in IDX, Vlocity Build Tool.
Experience with Salesforce CLI (SFDX) and some of its useful plugins which can automate some steps.
Experience with Salesforce platform production deployments working in an agile methodology environment.
Experience in setting up managing code quality tools such as PWD, Sonarqube, etc.
One of the Scripting language knowledge (Shell, Perl, Python, etc.)
Experience with Metadata API, Tooling API, SFI data packs, and basic knowledge of SFI EPC components migration is a plus.
Implemented DevOps CI/CD processes for enterprise multi-org, multi-team environments with simultaneous, independent workstreams.
Understanding of salesforce environments management(org strategy) and different development approaches.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business or a related field .
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with Tech solutions like Copado.
Knowledge of Docker image building.
Development experience on the Salesforce platform.
Experience with UI automation tools like puppeteer etc.
Desired Certifications:
Salesforce Certified Administrator (required)
Salesforce Platform Developer I (preferred)
Salesforce Certified OmniStudio Developer/Consultant (preferred)
Salesforce Certified Development Lifecycle and Deployment Designer (strongly preferred)
