At Core Foundation Services in Salesforce, we work on solving the hard, long term engineering problems in our software foundation that underlies all of our products. Focus is on building powerful and simple to use frameworks, services and software components that will be used by our products to deliver value to our end customers.

We own mission critical Asynchronous Processing Platform completely out of our Hyderabad Center. We have a multi-year charter to innovate for ultra high scale with aggressive SLAs by leveraging opportunities that Salesforce’s public cloud transformation presents. This translates into opportunity to innovate, build and own service while ensuring high availability. To meet many such lofty goals, we need engineers preferably with background in large scale distributed systems, solid programming and problem solving skills, and outstanding track record of innovation.

Responsibilities

• Independently design and deliver features of large complexity keeping Scale, HA, Monitoring and other needs of modern large scale system in mind.

• Innovate for both customer use cases and for the overall health of the service

• Own service in production

• Participate in evaluation of multiple technologies and open source options available, and defend logically how your choice is best for the service evolution

• Build upon open source wherever appropriate and contribute back to the community

• Mentor junior members in the team

Skills

• Proven experience as an key team member of large scale distributed systems for high volume workloads

• Strong data structure and algorithms skills and extensive programming experience, preferably in Java.

• Strong problem solving and design skills clearly demonstrated in the past projects

• Good communication skills and ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, potentially across geographies

• Quick, independent learner who loves a fast-paced environment

• Experience working in scrum/agile development environment. Agile mindset, ability to iterate, take risks and evolve

• A strong adherent to software engineering best practices which enable building world class products such as unit testing, modular code, right abstractions, continuous integration mindset etc.

• B.Tech/M. Tech in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
