    Position summary

    Bidder Eligibility:

    This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.

    Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.

    This job posting is at the Member level. If a Senior or Principal level employee applies and is selected, they will be moved into the Member level and their salary will be adjusted if necessary.

    Employees must remain in their current position for one year before applying for a new position, with the exception of student interns. Application of this requirement will not supersede collective bargaining agreements.     Posting Duration:

    This posting will be open for application submissions for a minimum of seven (7) calendar days, including the ‘posting date’. Sandia reserves the right to extend the posting date at any time.

    NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

    If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

    If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

    Salary Range:

    $56,100 - $92,500

    *Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

    What Your Job Will Be Like:

    The Sandia Mission Services Talent Acquisition Team (MSTAT) is seeking Business Operations Analysts. This team is active in identifying candidates with relevant academic and work experience in an effort to meet our staffing needs and objectives for either current or near-term positions.

    Selected applicants will be interviewed by a subcommittee of managers. Subsequently, successful applicants will be provided to managers for placement in positions across the Laboratory. There may be positions that allow for either virtual or telecommuting opportunities. There also may be positions that do require reporting onsite due to the nature of the work.

    Candidates are expected to team with others to support Sandia's mission by adding value, improving operations, offering innovative solutions and appropriately managing risk for the corporation.

    Position Information:

    The Business Operations Analyst (BOA) plays a key role in supporting a variety of national security projects and programs at the lab by using their knowledge and expertise in business, strategy, finance, and infrastructure operations to establish and improve a continuum of business processes.

    On any given day, you may be called on to:

    • Provides decision support to leadership on a broad range of business areas including financial planning, resource management, trends and projections, workforce acquisition planning, and business processes.
    • Supports the development of and coordinates delivery of various communications plans and strategies.
    • Supports efforts on operational aspects of the mission area, program, or project to ensure effective integration, optimization of processes, and compliance with policies and standards.
    • Works with the technical partners to make recommendations to influence key decision makers within the scope of project controls (work breakdown structure, schedule, resources, change control, risk, and budget/cost).
    • Assists with sponsor/customer interactions, including facilitating team communications and meetings, tracking project management deliverables and presenting project controls status.
    • Advises management on corporate policy interpretation/application, corporate program and project management policy, processes, and/or tools, recommends implementation options, and identifies associated risks.
    • Identifies and defines business needs; identifies opportunities for improvement and develops the business plan.
    • Participates in proposal call submissions; contributes, reviews, and advises on proposal elements; develops detailed cost estimates/budget justifications, manages and contributes to requirements for accepting proposals post award.
    • Develops financial plans, strategies, and resource forecasts; monitors implementation, prepares regular and special-purpose reports, maintains historical records, and analyzes trends.
    • Prepares project schedules, statistical reports, identifies problems, proposes solutions, and recommends and implements measures such as schedule revisions, resource adjustments, and funding/cost allocations.

    Qualifications We Require:

    • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline.
    • A higher-level degree in relevant discipline may also be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a required US DOE L-level security clearance.

    Qualifications We Desire:

    • Strong education, knowledge, and experience in business management functions.
    • Knowledge and experience in project administration.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to organize and follow through to completion on multiple tasks, under strict deadlines and changing priorities.
    • Willing to take initiative, take ownership of job responsibilities, and make appropriate decisions to complete tasks.
    • Excellent analytical, facilitation, and decision analysis skills.

    Security Clearance:
