    Position summary

    Posting Duration:

    NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

    If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

    If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

    Salary Range:

    $88,600 - $172,300 *Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate¿s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

    What Your Job Will Be Like:

    Are you passionate about your work and dream of driving global and national security strategies in an innovative science and technology environment? You could be the Executive Strategy Professional we are looking for to support Sandia’s Global Security Portfolio and Division!

    The successful candidate will engage with the Labs-level strategy team, driving strategy activities in multiple program areas and supporting Division 6000 leadership with strategic initiatives. You will lead strategic planning and drive strategic priorities for the programs and centers, while collaborating with executive management and leadership throughout the full strategic management life cycle.

    On any given day, you may be called on to:

    • Design, develop and align strategies within the portfolio and division, and work to integrate these strategies across Sandia
    • Drive the design, development, facilitation and implementation of long-term organizational and mission strategies for the Division and Global Security Portfolio
    • Align and calibrate strategic goals with Labs-level, program, center and cross-lab strategic goals and objectives
    • Integrate strategy with operational plans and align resourcing priorities and decisions
    • Assess internal/external market factors and trends that could influence current and future strategies
    • Provide executive-level support including the production of briefing materials and strategic documents for dissemination
    • Develop and steward a community of key collaborators and strategic partners throughout the Labs

    Qualifications We Require:

    • Master's degree in a relevant field, plus 2 years of experience; OR Bachelor's degree in stated fields plus 5 years' relevant experience
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Q-level security clearance

    Qualifications We Desire:

    • Experience with or substantial knowledge of strategic planning for large or complex organizations
    • Leadership development, coaching and mentoring experience
    • Demonstrated ability to understand, synthesize and communicate salient points for different audiences, including executive, operations, program and business
    • Ability to work effectively at strategic and tactical levels in response to changing events and directions
    • Familiarity with Sandia’s business and organizational management processes and rhythms
    • Broad network of contacts and working relationships within Sandia
    • Familiarity with Global Security mission areas, government customers, and rules governing FFRDCs, including exposure to the Division 6000 culture, environment and strategies
    • Experience leading through influence, with proven ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams
    • Proven ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
    • Active TS / SCI clearance

    Security Clearance:

    Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
