NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

We are seeking an R&D Manager with a passion for innovation and collaboration to lead the Thermal Battery Design and Development Department. We serve as the Design Agency for Thermal Battery products for Sandia’s Nuclear Deterrence mission. This translates into managing the cradle-to-grave responsibility for Thermal Battery components, including conceptual design, final design, design support during production, and full lifetime product surveillance.
As we shift towards designing for future systems in the ND spaces, other opportunities are also arising to partner with the Strategic Partnership Program on novel designs. Finally, as one of Sandia's leaders in the Advanced Digital Engineering initiatives, we use Set Based Concurrent Engineering methods for groundbreaking approaches to thermal battery design.

Thermal Battery Design and Development (7547) designs, develops, and prototypes electrochemical power sources, including thermal batteries and associated battery assemblies, for nuclear weapon applications. Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).
