NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

What Your Job Will Be Like:

The W87-0 Sentinel Integration program is seeking R&D technologists to join our multidisciplinary teams performing critical work advancing the safety, security, and reliability of our nation’s nuclear deterrents! Our teams are designing and building a suite of Joint Environmental Test Units and Joint Test Assemblies to enable W87-0 integration on the Air Force’s Sentinel missile. This is a highly collaborative work environment where successful candidates will be involved in design maturation, hardware assembly, and qualification testing. If you're looking to be part of a dynamic, hardworking team, this may be the position for you! On any given day, you may be called on to:

• Find and implement innovative technical solutions to non-routine issues that occur in the laboratory space
• Build and test development and flight hardware
• Assist test setup and safety walkthroughs
• Analyze test data and recommend modifications to components or test procedures
• Design software for test equipment
• Oversee laboratory equipment repair and calibration
• Setup and maintain ESD workspace
• Create and maintain environmental, safety, and health-related documentation
• Support environmental (temperature, shock, vibration) testing
• Provide support for field operations

Qualifications We Require:

• High school diploma plus three or more years of experience in benchtop testing and troubleshooting circuits
• Experience working with RF circuits and associated test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.)
• Experience with mechanical and/or electrical fabrication such as: 3D printing, printed wiring board rework, and soldering
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clear
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%

Qualifications We Desire:

• Associate's degree in an engineering/electrical field of study.
• Active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Experience with NI LabView
• Experience with Matlab, Excel, Python, Unix, or Linux
• Experience with nuclear weapon design, development, qualification, or production.
• Experience in assembly, integration, test, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electromechanical assemblies at the system and component levels.
• Experience working with classified and hazardous materials/hardware.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation of test results and reports

The W87-0 Sentinel System Integration team’s mission is to certify the W87-0 warhead for first flight on the Air Force’s Sentinel missile. Activities include creating a Joint Environmental Test Unit to provide environmental data from Sentinel test flights and developing Joint Test Assembly (JTA) 4b to certify the weapon system for operational use. Security Clearance:
