NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Salary Range:
$138,600 - $235,500
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
What Your Job Will Be Like:
We seek an R&D cybersecurity professional with a demonstrated track record of leadership, innovation, and technical expertise in areas relevant to mobile systems, such as mobile/cellular infrastructure, real-time operating systems (RTOS)/embedded systems, wireless communications, complex networked systems, cloud technologies, Android/IOS application and operating system security analysis, or radiofrequency signal analysis.
Primary job responsibilities will focus on conducting or leading mobile research and the successful candidate will lead a team of researchers responsible for identifying novel research directions executing a mission-focused, externally sponsored research portfolio focused on next generation mobile cybersecurity. Specifically, we seek a candidate capable of identifying current and future research needs based on sponsor missions and priorities, authoring effective research proposals to address those needs, and leading cutting edge research projects in collaboration with staff, management, and the business team. The candidate will mentor staff and other project leads, helping to craft technical vision and strategic plans for growing the area of sponsor-facing mobile systems research at Sandia. The desired candidate will have significant research and leadership experience, having served in a project leadership role for more than a year on a sponsored research activity. This position offers the opportunity to engage in a leadership role in an exciting area of mobile cybersecurity research in support of national security, and to have an impact on the mission of our sponsors.

The Emerging Cyber Capabilities Group (5680) consists of four departments conducting research in cyber virtualization/experimentation, machine learning and data analytics, systems and data understanding, vulnerability assessments, and mobile 5G. Security Clearance:
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
