    Position summary

    Posting Duration:

    NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

    If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

    If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

    Salary Range:

    $98,300 - $190,100

    *Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

    What Your Job Will Be Like:

    We are seeking a Tester Engineer - Electronics to join our Weapons Subsystem 5 group, which is a multidisciplinary team designing and developing advanced electronic subsystems. This group provides solutions to technical challenges that directly support our mission and commitment to national security. This is a highly collaborative work environment where successful candidates will create innovative solutions for difficult technical problems and acquire increasing levels of responsibility.

    Primary activities will include LabVIEW GUI software development to support tester development and tester operation.

    On any given day, you may be called on to:

    • Develop executable tester software code
    • Evaluate, develop, and debug complex test methods
    • Support development of tester requirements, particularly related to tester software
    • Automate a wide variety of microelectronics test equipment like oscilloscopes, logic/network/spectrum analyzers, and function/pulse generators
    • Design test fixtures
    • Assemble tester hardware
    • Analyze test results
    • Write and provide input into technical documentation

    Qualifications We Require:

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline and up to two years of experience, advanced degree in relevant discipline, or engineering experience that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development
    • Proficiency with NI LabVIEW software development
    • Understanding of NI TestStand
    • Strong software coding skills
    • Ability to obtain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance.

    Qualifications We Desire:

    • Ability to work independently and collaborate well in a diverse team of designers, test engineers, and qualification engineers
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines
    • Experience developing and implementing test plans for characterization and parametric testing
    • Hands-on experience testing and debugging circuitry, with clear mastery of tools such as oscilloscopes, logic/network/ spectrum analyzers, function/pulse generators, etc.
    • System administration skills
    • Experience with Python programming
    • Active DOE Q or DoD TS security clearance

    Security Clearance:
