    Position summary

    Posting Duration:

    NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

    If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

    If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

    Salary Range:

    $118,500 - $201,400

    *Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

    We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Rates Analyst at the Distinguished level. You will directly support Laboratory mission needs and have interactions with Executive Leadership teams across the organization. This is a high-exposure, high-impact leadership position. This role is in a unique position to interact frequently with the Executive Leadership across the Laboratory to influence and inform Laboratory decisions.     On any given day, you may be called on to:

    • Provide full spectrum financial management and analysis to assess the Laboratory health of direct and/or indirect portfolios (e.g., Indirect Cost Pool, Rates, Budget Authority, Cost Plan Management, Direct Cost and Funding, Continuing Resolution management, and Reporting).
    • Lead Portfolio assurance activities (i.e., funding, cost, overall portfolio management and performance).
    • Perform affordability projections, estimates, analysis and reviews for major corporate deliverables.
    • Develop specialized analytics to support NNSA and Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) executive decision-making on long-range objectives and strategic plans.
    • Lead the planning, execution, influencing and driving of lab projection processes.
    • Lead continuous improvement, benchmarking, and automation of process, procedure, and tools on behalf of the Corporation, and partner with team members to implement those initiatives.
    • Manage Division, Center, and/or Program operations and business rhythms.
    • Influence, make recommendations, and propose solutions for complex and broad ranging business matters to Senior Managers, Directors, and Executive Management.
    • Use ingenuity and innovation to develop new principles, concepts, and practices and apply them to develop solutions to problems of significant and unusual complexity and strategic issues.
    • Provide analysis of information, trends, and goals on a corporate level and be recognized as a resource by executive management.
    • Work with executive management and peers both internal and external. Serve in a consultant role, negotiating and resolving issues inside and outside Sandia pertaining to policies, plans, long-range goals, and objectives.
    • Be an acknowledged authority and corporate resource in your functional or organizational area.
    • Within organizational parameters, hold decision-making authority related to cost, schedule, and performance as determined by executive management.
    • Provide recommendations to executive management on long-term issues affecting key organization or Sandia initiatives.
    • Take proactive steps to resolve Laboratory-wide issues and/or risks, and be a leader in sharing and leveraging institutional knowledge to serve the greater good.
    • Lead as a resource across the complex and have ownership of Laboratory-wide solutions.
    • Develop and mentor the next generation of business leaders and SMEs for the Laboratory.

    Qualifications We Require:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business or other relevant field plus twelve or more years of directly related experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the job
    • Experience with interacting, advising, and briefing executive leadership teams
    • Experience working in either a Program, Portfolio, or Division Office
    • Experience with analytical tools to support decision making (e.g., dashboards, historical trend analysis, probability analysis, predictive analysis, etc.)
    • Active DOE L-level security clearance (or DOD equivalent) and ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance

    • Demonstrated ability to effectively develop/implement new processes and initiate improvement activities in creative and innovative ways
    • Ability to evaluate/analyze the environmental landscape and applicable data to identify creative/innovative solutions and develop sound recommendations used to influence leadership decisions
    • Experience working with the DOE/NNSA/SFO partners
    • Demonstrated ability to establish and mature relationships and lead in an environment that is oftentimes fast paced, time sensitive and ambiguous
    • Proven leader that has successfully led teams on high profile projects
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated ability to apply these skills to resolve complex business matters
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

    Security Clearance:

    Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) L security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).

    Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
