What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking administrative support for the AI for Nuclear Deterrence Initiative to assist in programmatic activities across the ND program.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Organize project/program meetings, rescheduling when necessary, and keeping the initiative leads aware of schedule changes
Attend project/program meetings to gather information and tasks related to current activities
Gather information, organize data, and provide reports of the information collected
Triage requests as they come in from NNSA HQ or the ND director team and assist with getting action items relayed to the appropriate parties
Assist with the logistics associated with hiring staff for the initiative both technical and programmatic staff
Assist with the development of presentations
Use common office software and proprietary software to compile and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, and graphs; to review status of projects and budgets
Design processes to enhance workflow
Assist in implementing and administering Sandia National Laboratories' policies and programs and provides guidance, interpretation, and administrative assistance on a wide variety of procedures
The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Salary Range:
$48,500 - $89,000
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
High school diploma plus 3 or more years of related experience
Experience working in an office setting and performing administrative services and activities
Experience with office software (i.e. MS Office and Adobe)
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
Qualifications We Desire:
Familiarity with AI and how to use AI towards the goals of this position
General awareness of the nuclear deterrence program and basic understanding of the stakeholders involved
Experience with fast-paced programs that evolve quickly and dynamically
Ability work well in a team that includes other business support, finance, agile process, and technical leads
Excellent oral and written skills, including proofreading, grammar, spelling, punctuation, accuracy, and attention to detail
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to effectively work in a team environment and interact with all levels of internal and external personnel, including the ability to network with senior internal and external administrative personnel
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks, often under strict deadlines, frequent interruptions, and competing priorities

About Our Team:
The AI for Nuclear Deterrence Initiative strategically coordinates the deployment of AI and the development of new AI workflows and capabilities for the entire nuclear deterrence portfolio including stockpile, modernization, advanced and exploratory, and our in-house production domains.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Position Information:
This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
