WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead the scoping, development, and implementation of the organization’s short-term and long-term DEI training and Supplier Diversity Programs.

• Create an iterative and coherent vision and strategy for DEI training and development that takes into account the needs of different roles, teams, and groups of staff, as well as the strategic direction of the organization.

• Partner with Procurement and Legal in vetting all vendors, prioritizing women- and minority-owned businesses

• Collaborate with critical internal partners (HR, Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, etc.) to create and lead programming that will result in greater equity and inclusion.

• Determine timeline and prioritization of organizational DEI training needs.

• Collaborate with internal business partners to assess DEI training in the context of the organization’s broader training and life-long learning goals.

• Establish and maintain a method for evaluating DEI training and development efforts. Gather and assess feedback from relevant stakeholders on the effectiveness of DEI training and learning opportunities; as appropriate, use this feedback to shape training and learning offerings.

• Manage and partner with external L&D vendors to design and deploy year-round DEI focused learning paths.

• Develop presentations & talking points and present to internal and external audiences

• Collaborate with other members of the DEI team to ensure a unified and coherent approach to DEI learning and development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Experience with Learning and Development strategies
• Knowledge of current diversity, equity, and inclusion theories and practices
• Experience in developing training for supplier diversity
• Experience with MS Office experience; including Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Change management experience with proven success in designing and implementing meaningful organizational change.
• Ability to influence others at an operational level regarding new concepts, practices and approaches
• Ability to influence people to get things done even when direct authority does not exist
• Highly organized and possesses the ability to quickly adjust priorities and work in a complex environment
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization
• Ability to manage all aspects of multiple projects, deliverables and timelines
• Ability to research, interpret, and incorporate industry and other best practices into project management processes
• Skilled in cross-cultural awareness, leadership, communication, influence, negotiation and conflict resolution
• Demonstrated experience engaging the support and resources of others to achieve project goals and objectives; influencing with and without authority
• Ability to think both tactically and strategically moving through both fluidly
• Be a thought leader in the organization on improving diversity, equity, and inclusive practices in a sustainable way
• Work closely with partners across the organization to establish and strengthen community partnerships and foster community engagement to inform and enhance Santander’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Commence and maintain efforts for achieving certification as a trusted partner of women- and minority-owned businesses
• Represent the Santander US brand at community events and with local partners
