Position Summary:
The Application Development Consultant develops, maintains, and enhances critical business applications with Appian, and provides specialized technical, and quick solutions for strategic and near term projects. S/he
The Application Development Consultant is a subject matter expert who develops applications with Appian to meet project schedule and maintains and supports existing software applications, while working to resolve complex issues.
The Application Development Consultant reports to the IT Services and Delivery Director.
Position Duties / Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and lead meetings with business areas to document business requirements and communicate project specifications regarding Appian; clarify requirement-related issues as needed.
• Formulates and defines application scope and objectives; devises and modifies procedures to solve business problems.
• Support Appian apps deployed in production environment, by resolving any potential incident or error.
• Collaborate in Appian servers maintenance and Appian installations (hotfixes and upgrades). For new installations, test prior to release to minimize failures and impact.
• Coordinate and Lead the Appian team developers in Mexico and Spain.
• Codes and configures application components and interfaces.
• Contributes to application software reporting initiatives.
• Maintains software across multiple business units.
• Provide support to final users of all Appian apps by troubleshooting and/or resolve any issues within the applications.
• Develops and maintains good understanding of application environment.

Specialized Knowledge
• Apps development based on Appian technology
• Knowledge of Appian SAIL language
• SQL Server databases
• Oracle databases
• SOAP/REST Web services design, building and use
• Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, bitbucket)
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
Business Experience:
5-7 years of relevant experience or demonstrated required level of proficiency

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. Occasional moving and lifting equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown. Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, climb ladders.
