WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
The Manager, Technical Accounting/Controllership develops objectives, goals, accounting and reporting policies, processes, and procedures for the accounting function. S/he sets goals and objectives for team to achieve accounting and reporting requirements.
This position is primarily responsible for managing the Company’s compliance with technical accounting requirements of US GAAP and IFRS. The Manager advises the Company’s senior management and business lines on technical accounting requirements by interpreting new and existing accounting guidance as they relate to the accounting for new products, significant and/or non-routine transactions and other events. The Manager provides necessary updates to the Company’s accounting policies and monitors emerging accounting developments and interprets their impact to the Company. The Manager partners with the financial reporting directors and subsidiary controllers to ensure all financial statements and related disclosures comply with US GAAP and IFRS. The Manager report to the Director of Accounting Policy.
Develops and implements accounting objectives, accounting policies, and standards in support of the department and functional strategy.
Influences others through information exchanges and active persuasion to gain cooperation of others.
Implements new accounting standard changes and automation of accounting and reporting processes.
Research technical accounting requirements for complex transactions under both US GAAP and IFRS.
Interact with and advise executive leadership on accounting matters.
Lead cross functional project teams on the implementation of accounting processes for new products, transactions and changing accounting policies.
Writes accounting policies and accounting memos.

Bachelor's Degree.
9+ years in Accounting, Financial reporting or Auditing field.
Advanced accounting practices and procedures, including US GAAP/IFRS and regulatory reporting standards.
Advanced skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software for both general ledger and regulatory accounting.
Ability to direct, train and guide peers, subordinates and management.
Ability to handle conflict resolution with other groups to ensure appropriate accounting guidance is followed.
Ability to adjust to new developments/changing circumstances.
Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with multiple levels of the organizational structure, including senior level management.
Excellent writing skills with experience writing technical accounting memos.
Experience researching and implementing complex financial transactions, such as securitizations and hedging.
