    Become a Business Operations Analysis Advisor, this position will support our Mapping GIS department at Southern California Edison. We are one of the nation’s largest investor-owned electric utilities. This job is part of our Geospatial Data Maintenance organization within Transmission & Distribution. The Geospatial Data Maintenance organization has the responsibility of ensuring the accuracy and continuity of SCE’s Electric Asset Records for overhead and underground facilities in SCE’s comprehensive Geographic Information System (cGIS).

    As a Business Operations Analysis Advisor, Advisor you will provide creative solutions for business challenges, conduct data analysis, and support the development of solutions and manage plans to close data gaps associated with process and technology. This includes supporting the broader team with coordinating cross-functional activities, developing recommendations, and evolving the way we maintain and view geospatial data across the company.  All while leading and maintaining workloads, building trust, driving safety, and acting with integrity.     • Partner with teams to solve critical issues and identify opportunities for optimization.

    • Drive plans and schedules to ensure goals are achieved.

    • Identify and improve processes and procedures through the maintenance and development of reporting dashboards to streamline business practice.

    • Perform in-depth analyses, develops recommendations, and provides consultative services on an as-needed basis to address complex problems/issues.

    • Work with stakeholders to develop business capabilities and software solutions to improve efficiency of operations. Ensure software solutions are aligned with business strategy and users’ requirements. Coordinate enhancements and implementation with IT.

    • Develops presentations, provides education and training assistance to stakeholders across the company. Conducts presentations and workshops on geospatial topics.

    • Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    The essentials 

    • Seven years of experience in developing, querying, and maintaining data.

    • Three or more years of experience mapping out processes and workflows, documentation and making recommendations.

    • Experience working with two or more of the following products (Autodesk, ESRI, GE Digital’s Smallworld, SAP, Automated Utility Design, Design Manager, Power Bi).

    • Experience with performance metrics / key performance indicators (creation and monitoring).

    The preferred

    • Bachelor’s degree

    • Experience using Automated Utility Design (AUD), Design Manager (DM), SAP (for work orders, notifications, maintenance plans and FLOC/Equipment review).

    • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerBI and/or SQL.

    • Developing and delivering training.

    • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and schedule multiple tasks with minimal supervision and adjust to changing priorities.

    • Effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.

    • Experience interfacing effectively with clients, peers, and all levels of management.

    • Experience managing the ideation and implementation of process changes, preferably to improve the availability or quality of data.

    • This position’s work mode is hybrid.  The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
